I think facilities are a must to attract the best recruits and coaches. Kramer made the statement he would have never come from eastern to MSU if it was not for the stadium/field remodel. I think kramer jumped our program up. There will always be an exception, but i promise you a successful coach, and "good" recruits, and hell for that matter fans want to be proud of their atmosphere. The current admistration (i hope) is keeping tabs on what the rest of the big sky (or any other western teams which compete for our recruits)is considering and doing to there stadiums. I am just concerned we will be passed by UNC, SAC State, etc and on the back burner again. IMO

The situation reminds me of Oregon/Oregon State. In the early 90's the Ducks and Beavers were terrible. Losing records, empty seats and sub-par facilities.

In comes Phil Knight....with lots o'cash for the Oregon program. The stadium was upgraded, new training facilities were built and now its one of the premier programs in the country. Oregon State was the poor step sister until Al Reser (of Reser foods) stepped up and committed funds to improve the OSU facilities. The stadium was upgraded and expanded from 35k to 47k. Guess what? OSU is now a competitive program.

I'm not saying its only facilities that make a program...but it is definitely a huge factor. Kids want to play for a top notch program with top notch facilities. Lets get moving and move the Cats to the next level!!!!
