Tommy to the Raiders

Tommy just got a nice tackle on kick coverage.

He just took down Bergen, right?

I don't know what that means? Was that something the announcer said?
I'm looking at the play by play on ESPN and it looked like Tommy tackled Bergen on the KR. Just wondered.

I am watching the 2nd half on the NFL network. The network is using the Raiders broadcast. They decided to interview Crosby for an extended period and missed Tommy's tackle.

The Raiders radio broadcasters are bad (listened to them durthe 1st half while coming back from the scrimmage). Rarely gave down and distance.....or who made tackles.

Different dude returned every kickoff… Tommy had the best return. Guess the Cardinals will need to blow out the raiders for Tommy to get 2 returns.

I’m having to update on gamecast. Was Tommy back there in that last kick off? Kind of a bummer if they don’t reward him with another shot after his last return.

They’re giving a lot of guys different shots to see who can do what. Limited opportunities to get everybody game time experience.

Spytek, the GM, was on the broadcast during his kickoff and said they want to see what he can do on ST’s, the hope is that he can contribute there while he learns how to play WR.

Although not as flashy, him getting down on a return and making a solo tackle is just as important towards making a roster spot for him as a good return is. The guys at the end of the depth chart have to be able to play in multiple spots to make it worth rostering them.

Well a great return and a solid tackle, seems like a decent game for Tommy, with the limited reps they gave him. I'm sure they're trying to give other guys time, and not wanting to show too much since it's pre-season, but how's a guy supposed to prove he belongs with such limited opportunities?

We all know that Tommy is not making the team in Year 1 purely as a WR. He showed today what he can bring to the roster in the area that matters most right now as he continues to develop as an offensive player.

Tommy had a great game for what he was given. Not sure if it was shown on tv but every time the qb was warming up Tommy was the one that was out there catching it.

I thought the opposite when I saw that play. Field was wide open and it felt like it took him forever to get to the end zone
