For anyone interested go back and watch Eli Gillmans long touchdown run against the cats in the brawl. He does the exact same peace sign as he crosses the goal line that Julius did that griz nation is so ass chapped about.

It's the ultimate judgement call by the ref. But its the player that controls it. Just don't do it. Period.

This deserves a bump. Montana Tech beat the might Gris last night in men’s basketball!Cataholic wrote: ↑Sun Dec 14, 2025 9:05 pmYou really don’t have a choice. I hear Panda fans touting the streak, or the 2010 championship game all the time.
What I DO hear Cats fans say is things like "Cats have been to the natty twice in the last 4 years and the semis 4 times....which makes them better than the Pandas." Also, "Pandas haven't won in Bozeman since Obama was president" Also "Cats have pwned the Pandas over the last decade"
Pretty different claims to greatness.
What if (God forbid) Ah Yat and Gillman got hurt on the first series and the Griz put up an amazing fight and lost by one point.
Would you say “yep! MSU was just the better team!”?

According to OldGris, Montana Tech definitely has the better basketball teams based on the results! Maybe the Gris can petition for a special exemption to play down this year in NAIA so they can be competitive.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Just keep hedging, Cataholic & Catatac. Keep on scrambling to spin the outcome if the Griz win. LOL

Who is hedging? It is YOUR definition. DIGGERS & anyone who beats Diggers are better than the gris until gris can beat them again.

Whoever wins this game deserves the win, no excuses. If the frizzz pull it out I will give them all the credit in the world. However, I will also immediately become a huge Illinois St/Villanova fan.

You’d think it’d be so simple. The griz lost last time and they are better. If the Cats lose this time the griz will be better. If the Cats win again my guess is the griz will still be better.
There is literally nothing we can do, off the field or even on it, to prove we are better than the griz. We just need to accept that and move on to Nashville.

As for public perception of which team is better, I’m not seeing or sensing this crap about how the Griz are supposedly better. The Cats are better and proved it on November 22nd. Could that change? Yes. The Griz are the underdog and should be. I don’t like the Griz’ chances in Bozeman, but if they surprise me, they will have earned the title as best team in Montana (until we meet again). Now don’t be waving Montana Tech basketball in my face.

Just read egriz. There are multiple threads and countless posts saying exactly that; that the griz are better and Cats got lucky in Missoula. There was literally like 10 more posts saying that just last night.OldGriz wrote: ↑Thu Dec 18, 2025 4:37 pmI like 84CatGrad’s post.RyeCat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 18, 2025 4:10 pmNow, you’re catching on, Grasshopper.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Thu Dec 18, 2025 4:05 pmYou’d think it’d be so simple. There is an entire thread about being more confident this time because they know the griz are better and the ball just bounced in the Cats’ favor.
I agree with you it’s a crap take, but nonetheless a take shared by many of your fellow griz fans.

To borrow a phrase from Will Rogers, nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of eGriz. I’m a Griz fan. But I’d teabag a deep fryer for 30 minute before I’d be associated with anything on eGriz.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Thu Dec 18, 2025 4:41 pmJust read egriz. This is exactly why every team despises the Gris fan base. Strangely, OldGris has been on the realistic discussion this time. And Tech having a better basketball team than the Gris is icing on the cake!ilovethecats wrote: ↑Thu Dec 18, 2025 4:41 pmJust read egriz. EGriz is not the Griz fan base. It’s certainly part of the fan base. But not representative on the whole. I don’t agree that every team (or its fan base) despises the Griz fan base. But I could be wrong (I mean, I’m the guy who says the Oredigger hoopsters are better than the Griz).Cataholic wrote: ↑Thu Dec 18, 2025 6:28 pmThis is exactly why every team despises the Gris fan base. Re: Cat-Griz 2.0
Pulled this from Herder's analysis. Thought it's was interesting.
"It reminds me a bit of last year’s SDSU at NDSU semifinal game. The Bison narrowly beat the Jackrabbits in the regular season. But in the second round and quarterfinals, SDSU looked like a better team than NDSU in how it was playing. It’s a similar storyline heading into Saturday’s rivalry game. The slight difference is that NDSU won at home in the regular season, compared to MSU winning on the road. The Bison ended up narrowly beating SDSU in the semifinals, even though the two playoff games suggested the Jacks carried in better momentum.
A lot has happened outside of the norm in this year’s FCS playoff field. Typical powers have lost early. New blood is deep in the bracket. And plenty of road teams have won. But that’s on the other side of the bracket. I think the norm continues on this side. That norm is the team who’s better in the trenches wins deep in the playoffs, and home-field advantage is a difference-maker."
