Can someone explain to me why Woodard is 30 yards downfirld on third and 10? The receiver just runs to the sticks and no one is within 20 yards of him...

On that play it was inverted cov2...... safeties were dropping down to away the inside cuts cbs were getting deep. That's the weakness of the inverted cov2.

Part I don't like is when receivers lower their bodies anticipating hits. That tackle is to the mid section if he doesn't.

The last time Tommy played in the 4th quarter we scored 21 points.

Tommy has played in the 4th quarter in only two of this year's games. New Mexico and ISU.
3 tds in each of those games in the 4th quarter.
That's a statement.

I hope they work on a lot of the things that led ISU to have a 48.7% completion percentage today.

We soundly beat them. Very well could have had another TD in there too. We made all extra points and even a field goal! Held them to much less than UND did and scored fairly easily when ISU was wearing down. BTW they coughed up the ball four times against UND.

Middle of the field is open due to coverage being ran an partly ability of the players, with a little of the route being run.

A lot of the middle of the field plays were being run against a cov2/4 shell. the opening is behind the lbs and in front of the safeties. Now our lbs don't get very deep drops so they don't influence those passes. Those are long pass routes so it's really hard for the db to cover those, so you have to have pressure from the front to help with that. That is a really easy throw for the qb...it's right in front of them, they can really get behind it and put a lot of arm and place it well. The TD pass was a slant...we were in man. The wr got inside leverage on us then ran away from the cb. they had a rub route which is what helped to create that little bit of space. That's why i said earlier they need to banjo that or get on different levels so that doesn't happen...problem is you are taking a fast wr and putting them on one our safeties who aren't all that fast, you may still see that space.

Humphrey and Jones are a dangerous 1-2 punch.

You literally have no clue what you're taking about. They aren't bad. They are the best but they are avg. Tracy is throwing some darts. Nearly every big catch was contested and we won our fair share.

When a team throws as much at this, they're going to win some. They've scored 17 points...... every single team in the country would take defense that's had given up 17pts with a couple of high quality throws and catches.. like you do realize they are d1 athletes as well? They are going to make some plays

I would say with Wagner at QB, no. He's just as skiddish under pressure and nots super accurate. With Layne, yes.
