For that exact reason. If you go to soon then it will slide in and out of place constantly and never be normal. If you can wait out a few weeks, those muscles get strong and won't let the shoulder slip in and out so easily.vike_king wrote:Why is Force out so long with a shoulder separation? Doug Kimball used to routinely put his back into place during the game then go out and do it again.

Wasn't Papich a walk on?BobcatLionFan wrote:There are injuries every year. If you were to go back to last year, there was a period when it seems everyone on the Nation was bitching about the D (which ended up #1 in the league). During that period Mac, Mollahan, Chris K, Matakis, and a couple of Corners were out and Elliot was down for awhile. On the O side, Bass went down, Ricky I think was down for awhile, as was the other Wideout (don't remember his name). Dom was also nicked up for awhile.
During that time, Gathing was moved from RB to LB because LB was so short, Daily got his chance and made the most of it.
When you run 64 scholarships, you don't have the depth. And no matter what anyone says, walk-ons just don't perform at the same level. That tends to be why they are walk-ons. I don't know if any walk-on has started in the last couple years (other than special teams).

Walk-on occur at ALL universities (USC on down). If you become a starter, you get a scholarship (is the general rule) and then you count as one of the 80+ or 64 in the case of I-AA. There are surprises and they get the scholarship their 2nd or 3rd years, but they tend not to be your starters.
