During 2024 Cat Gris when the freak snow storm rolled in. It was so strange!
The squall of the wild !! Everyone in the stadium turned their backs to the storm and was facing south. It was pretty funy to see.
I turned around once to look at the field to see what was going on and the goalposts in the N endzone were waving like one of those inflatable dudes outside a Verizon store !!

My all-time favorite was breaking the streak. We were watching the game at Club 77 in Helena and after the game, walked up to Main News and bought some celebratory cigars.
Favorite non-game memory was in the tailgates when I noticed someone taking a picture of my GRZH8R plates. The girl said they do a family calendar every year and wanted that as one of the pics. I offered the one I wear on a chain to take a pic and they all gathered around grandma proudly holding the plate. Now my son has taken on the tradition of wearing the plate.

I'll always remember the 1968 game in Missoula (only time for me there) when Paul Schafer carried the ball 58 times and scored the winning TD with 12 seconds left.
Best game for me in Bozeman was/is 2019. Bobcats dominated from the first kickoff.
Old Dornblaser stadium. Didn’t make that game. But must have been ‘72 there when Zoonie McClean with a couple TD passes to Sam McCullum. Kollar double teamed all day. Last game ever attended in Missoula.

2022 when we ran it on the first 18 plays or something like that. Over 400 yards rushing and just 10 passes.

2003. We broke the streak the year before, but finally won in Bozeman. I watched from the student section and was on the field when the goalpost came down.
There's the truth, and then there's what's reported in the papers.

2017 when we finally won at home again has to be my all time. The Gresch Jensen fumble that led to the Chris Murray keeper on the RPO in the 4th to all but ice the game. 2 years after our loss at home to the griz that eventually led to Ash’s demise, we were able make them turn heel and rehire Bobby. More or less felt like a huge turning point for our place in the rivalry.

My very first Cat-Griz game at the new Reno H Sales stadium in 1973. On their first play from scrimmage, the Cats ran a 65 yard end run for a TD. I certainly hope it comes back to life Saturday. 2nd fav - ending the streak. GO CATS GO!!
58-57!! You're final score!! Daniel Salle

Good thing we're not playing today. Must be blowing about 60 right now!

That does bring up a good question, if it remains windy (not this windy) who struggles more to deal with the weather?
I would say UM offense would struggle as they rely more on spreading the defense out and playing in space. Hard to do that if the wind is cauing issues with the the flight of the ball.

My first time at Reno H Sales was about then at a Cat/Griz game, my only real memory of it is the "Poooooooor Grizzlies" chant
I was also at a game at the Gatton Field, don't know when for sure, all I remember of that time is that they had a real Bobcat

Strong wind limits the deep ball, which they like so much.
This reminds me, I was thinking the other day about how the stadium has changed. Now depending on the wind direction and the openings in the stadium, the wind swirls and does different things. It has to be a tough place to play when its windy.

Just as worried about replacing another $400 worth of canopies.

That was my first one as well. Drove 475 miles with two of my best friends as seniors in high school. Great memory.

2005. Lulay's last game. Beat the frizzz 16-6 on a muddy field. Was in the old south end zone with my son and daughter. After the game a mob approached the goal post in front of us and tore it down. The crowd mobbed the field and carried Lulay around on its shoulders.

That was my first Cat-gris game and got to sit with my dad for our first Cat game together. That will always be my favorite. What a muddy mess.
You can't spell dUMb without UM and now you can't spell grizzLLies without 2 Ls.

And the frizz complained and complained about losing because of the poor field conditions. Some things never change.

And both teams play on the same field…
griz fans; keeping it classy and gracious in winning since ... well, never.
