I don't know about anyone else but I appreciated Colter's opening monologue on yesterday's show about Cat-griz and his mini-rant against BOTW. The corporate name is fine for marketing outside the state but in Montana it's Cat-griz and it always has been.

Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

Saying we live in the wild makes us seem like a bunch of rubes! I know a lot of people in Montana live very rural. But it seems like a romanticized thing to make it seem like we live in the wild  Anyone that lives in Missoula or Bozeman or visits each city knows they are urbanized metro areas now. Not very wild haha!

Another thing I noticed during the interviews was the attitudes of the players. Tommy is always pretty business- like in his interviews, but both Ortt and Grebe seemed comfortable and confident, were smiling, etc. The griz boys just didn't look that way. I'm sure part of that is due to the Cats are just having fun, winning is fun. Sure, they are focused and preparing for the next game, but they're enjoying the season, the team loves each other, the coaches and players have a bond that's different than year's past. Same can't really be said for the other guys. There's strain, frustration, maybe even a lack of trust.
I noticed the Gris players as well. The already seam defeated.
I don't know, this is pretty standard for gris player interviews, they always have BH sitting right there and they don't want to say something wrong so they are real hesitant.

On our player interviews they are alone and know that the coach trusts them to not say the wrong things, they always seem much more relaxed and confident.

It is more just different ways that the coaches run the programs.
You are correct and it goes one step further. Because of the difference in how the two programs are run Bobcat players develop so much more to be a person who is well prepared to interact and communicate independently. I honestly feel sorry for the Griz players that they have to experience and live under Bobby's alpha ego driven thumb.

We are experiencing server overload :/ great timing. But our web guy is on it. I just rebooted so should work soon. Apologies for the frustrating. I promise, no one is more frustrating than me.....!

In the mean time, here's a new podcast!

In a way, you could probably say it's a good thing. Lots of viewership.

I don't really mind that aspect of it. It wouldn't but such a bad name if it hadn't been created by a griz fan who didn't like that we were named first in the rivalry and wanted something neutral that sounded good (minor conspiracy theory - I know the origins of the name).

I guess I never thought of Brawl of the Wild meaning that the State and people are wild but more just an indication of the two mascots as being animals in the wild. It’s Cat- Griz though and really nothing else. It sounds way more intelligent than the other way. In fact anyone who says it the other way just sounds ignorant. Having to listen to Morningwig say it and pretend that was what they always called it is just ridiculous. Like Colter said in his opening it was started recently just get under MSU fans skin. After the streak was broken in the early 2000’s UM fans needed to fill their shallow egos with something ridiculous.

I’m surprised the game isn’t referred to as ‘The Continental Divide’ for the Great Divide Trophy. Still trying to get used to ‘Brawl of the Wild.’
