I am following gamecast. What was the T on Lexi?
There was a scrum on the floor and I couldn’t see clearly if words were exchanged or excess physicality fighting for the ball. But both Deden of Bobcats and Taylor for Wildcats received technical fouls on the play. Gonna look at it on replay tomorrow.
Taylor had been locking arms with Kola and Lexi the whole game. Lexi got sick of it. Taylor had locked up Lexi and Lexi just pulled her down in wanting to go for the ball. I suspect the double T (which was whistled immediately) was for the initial lockup by Taylor (very against the rules) and Lexi for bringing her down. From my view on ESPN+ I agreed with the call. I think it helped clean up the situation.

I had been watching it develop (and pointed it out to my wife) with both Lexi and Kola because the same offense was committed throughout the game in Ogden. It must be a Utah thing — that was an absolute staple of SUU’s play which they used to upset us there a couple of years ago. I was soooo happy when they left the Conference. Would like to see the bigs coach work the refs on this one. Mr. Belo can also speak to the issue — he’s had a couple of takedowns (but no two points) in the same situation.
Good observations that I did not pick up real time watching in person. I did notice some of the “holding” going on but did not see it on this particular play. Glad Lexi stood her ground and got the issue settled.

And as mentioned, proud of the Cats not letting the game get away from them and keep up their game in the face of 49 called fouls and 57 free throws being shot! It did look like our depth started to get to them in the 4th quarter……or maybe Darian just took away their spirit to keep playing as she threw up dagger after dagger in second half.

Next up, Idaho State, the toughest defense in the league…holding teams under 60 points average for the year. Their record isn’t stellar this year with transfer of Montana Oltrogee to NAU and the loss of Goles, Ors, Konate…but they still do have Bourne who is always a contributor. Well coached team. Sobolewski has a good chance of being one of the top winningest coaches in the Big Sky if he sticks around long enough…..even if I don’t like his behavior sometimes…. he keeps ISU in the hunt most years.
