Looks like we'll pull this one out. Yay, I guess.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Looks like it took a freshman to come through to keep this season going. Holm had 22 tonight.

That and 47% free throw shooting from SUU.

No way SUU should have lost that. They had it. All they had to do was hit few free throws. We didn't win it-SUU lost it. I feel bad for those SUU kids, they're just completely snake bit.

SUU has a lot of size, and they have shooters. They just lose their way for long stretches. Then all of sudden they can't miss, then they seem to get lost again. They have a lot of silly turnovers. And at least on this night-they were terrible from the line.

A freshman saves our senior night. Holm was terrific.

Until I looked at the BOX score I had no idea they got taken to OT. Not really a good sign. And for SUU to miss all those FT. You are so correct we did not win it.....They lost it.

Cat Griz Monday... Griz by 30? Probably not but it would not surprise me in the least. If betting straight up, I'd have no problem putting $10,000 on the Griz beating the Cats. 99% chance we lose that one.

The griz will be on short rest (they play SUU Saturday) so I think it'll only be 20. I think you giving us a 1% chance is ludicrous though! I think we only have a .1% chance.

Great moments are born from great opportunity.

And that's what you have here tonight, boys.

That's what you've earned here, tonight.

One game.

If we played 'em ten times, they might win nine.

But not this game. Not tonight.

Tonight, we shoot with 'em.

Tonight, we stay with 'em, and we shut them down because we can!
Tonight, we are the greatest Basketball team in the world.

You were born to be Basketball players -- every one of ya.

And you were meant to be here tonight.

This is your time.

Their time -- is done. It's over.

I'm sick and tired of hearin' about what a great basketball team the grizzlies have.
Screw 'em!

This is your time!!

Now go out there and take it!

I have a feeling Huse is more like Bob Knight than Herb Brooks.

I'd say he is more on level with Jackie Moon...

I am just trying to pump everyone up. We have all talked about the future, what should be done now, and what we don't like. Now is the time to rally around the YOUNG MEN that are wearing the MSU name on their jerseys. Positive thoughts till after the season is over. We can do this....

It sounds like a plan to me. Why not see how far this team can go? I'm taking a "realistic" approach. I think they'll get to the tournament, but I don't expect a lot when they get there. If they do make a run, it's going to be a fun ride. I don't think I'll be too disappointed otherwise. I still went to almost all of the games, including all of the conference games. I just can't give it up yet.

There's also a statistic that I want to post here. The Bobcats had a 5-4 record this February. It sure as hell doesn't feel like it, but it's been a long time since we've produced a winning record in this month.

GO CATS!

One of the major reasons the Cats were 5-4 in Feb. was the fact that Huse finally realized that with the next to lowest scoring offense in the conference it was time to play the best shooter on the team ,Stephan Homes. The true freshman has one of the quickest releases we've had in years and given some minutes could really turn the team around IF the guards (other than Marcus) would give him the ball when he is open.

When Colbert is getting into the lane, Davis has it going offensively and Holm is shooting well, the Cats are an incredibly tough team to stop offensively. The problem with that lineup is the defensive side of things. Colbert is a tenacious defender, but Davis can't guard most posts in Big Sky because he's 6-4 on a good day. Holm's defense is just not quite there.

The 'Cats are such an intriguing and impossibly hard team to figure out because of their array of unique players. Antonio Biglow is such a great floor general, has a tremendous basketball IQ, is ultra-competitive, plays great defense, but can't shoot a lick. Mike Dison is one of the fastest players in the league and like a Microwave Johnson when he gets hot off the bench, but that comes in fleeting moments. He's a stellar defender, particularly away from the ball, but he's 5-9 and settles for 18-footers off a cross-over dribbles far too often. Davis is one of the craftiest scorers in the league and has to just be maddening to guard. He'll drop 18 on you with an array of awkward shots. But he can't guard the big posts. He got six dropped on him right out of the gates by Eric Hutchinson the last Cat-Griz game. Paul Egwuonwu is one of the biggest specimens in the league. He might go 27 and 10 like he did off the bench one time this season, or he could score 3 points and get 0 rebounds like he did against the Griz. Colbert always competes hard and is one of MSU's best players. Holm can shoot the lights out, but can't play defense yet.

Like I said on KBZK last night, this team could sweep the rest of the stretch and end up with a top 3 seed or they could lose all three and miss the tournament. Either one, everything in between, none of it would surprise me.

Great analysis of the Cats, Coulter. I agree that Stephan is not 100% on the defensive side but at least he always gives 100% in effort. It is just so maddening to watch both Paul (especially) and Flavien wave at players going by them for uncontested layups. Once upon a time Paul actually blocked shots but that was back when the Cats were getting us free burgers for 11 3-s (a loooong time ago this year).
