As for MACs, They are good machines/software, however it is a niche marketplace. The users with those products are very happy with it, however, the PC environment has a 1000 times more people trying to extend it's capabilities. Thus moving into the future the PC will continue to increase the gap.

I can do everything on my Mac as you can do on your PC. I do not have worrry about software patches, crashes, or being hacked. Mac is growing and when they switch to intel chips, they should be cost about the same.

Another place to go is www.trendmicro.com.

Find where is says free scan. Download and run CWS shredder first.
Then run their free virus scan and antispyware scan.

make sure your ad-aware, spybot, etc and anti-virus are all updated and reboot in safe mode and run all of these, along with a virus scan.

This should get you pretty clean.
