Hey I picked up my Bud at the Paw when I was down for the Spring Game. A case, instead of an 18er. Nice! :D I hoisted it over my head and showed it off to the wife and kids, then let out a Rebel Yell since it was the Cat's Paw parking lot. A Joe Dirt moment. Thanks. I'll have to give you chance to win it back one of these days.

Bobcats, beer, Twins, Vikings, Cats Paw, and Willie Ramos c ties the AL record for hits in a debut with four today. Joe who?

Name the other Twin that had four hits in his debut.

Thought I was going to be catching a lot of crap today, but Kubel hits a 4-run homer in the eighth off Mo Rivera. 8)

The Twins already became the first team in MLB history to win a division without having a starting rotation, so who knows, maybe they'll win a playoff series as well.

Kind of a deja vu moment tonight. Twins avert a sweep behind Kubel. Gardenhire is 18-54 vs NYY, so 2-4 this year is a big improvement. 725-572 against the rest.

barely. i'm afraid we might see the same ol twins and an early exit. i hope i'm wrong but there is not a lot to be too excited about with this team right now. :(

If it's any consolation none of the AL teams are that hot. NY was really slumping until just recently. The Twins shelved a bunch of players -- Thome, Mauer, Hardy, Span -- down the stretch, but the starting pitching has really nose-dived. Remember in '87 when they lost there last five or six games going into the playoffs? I think one thing that really helps Minnesota is that NY and TB have been pushing each other until just a couple days ago. I don't know that either is all the hellbent on winning the division and having the best record, but you'd think it would be best to not be the Wild Card and have to be the road team throught the playoffs. ??? I don't know. Stay hopeful my friend. :)

ya it's really just the pitching that has me so worried. i can live with only scoring a couple runs a game because i know that we're resting guys. but we're still sending guys to the mound that will be in our playoff rotation and they are all just getting shelled! but you're right about the '87 team and if i remember right we did something similar in '91. i'm not counting these guys out yet but i just don't have the greatest feeling about them. punto better never see the field, i know that for sure. he is so bad. i've just been baffled this season wondering how he is in the major league! but morneau has been taking BP so let's hope that is a boost if not with his play but just his presence alone. i really thought his career was over. i just really want some meaniful baseball to start again!

Since the Twins clinched, Gardy been holding the starting pitchers back in term of what pitches they throw to save them for the postseason, less breaking balls & sliders, and more fastballs...which resulted in them getting shelled in quite a few games over the last 10 days. Also he knew they would have homefield for this 1st series no matter what the Yanks or Rays did due to their large lead over Texas. I guess we'll see if this strategy paid off, because the Phillies played hard almost all the way to the end even if they didn't have to.

Will it ever end? Not giving up, but this is getting to be like a broken record. Play the Yanks, get the lead, blow the lead, lose. Play the Yanks, get the lead, blow the lead, lose. Play the Yanks, get the lead, blow the lead, lose.

same old song and dance tom. i try not to be overly negative but i just don't see anyway we can win this series. we took their best pitcher last night, led 3-0, and still blew it. that was a huge shot for us. pavano needs to pitch his ass off for us this afternoon and our only hope is getting this series back to the cities after today. i'm not holding my breath! :(
