I still like the refs missing not one, but TWO delay of game penalties against... PSU was it? Don't remember who, but twice in one game.

It seems like the refs are constantly trying to make up for a bad call - it is like they are reffing on tape delay. I don't know how many times I have seen them make a bad or no call, then a minute later make another call that reverses the first.

The calls themselves don't tend to determine the outcome of the game, but the players can't tell how to play. One time you get hammered and no call. Next time you get a little body on the block and it is a foul. The players can deal with however the game is called, but the need it to be consistent, not yo-yoing with make-up calls.

I hate to keep beating this dead horse; butttt, the May 1oth Sports Illustrated article featuring sports in Montana pretty much sums up my opinion of our conference's "Crooked Zebras" (great book all fans may want to spend some time reading). The old Eastern Washington coach was quoted (my paraphrase): "Everytime I visit Montana I feel like a prostitute on Sunday morning." due to several game ending calls on a game in Mazzola in the mid-80s. We do not hold our zebras accountable to public scrutiny as the other conferences. In fact, I've never seen a public reprimand and/or suspension of some of our sorry game deciding hucksters as so many conferences do. Geezzz, what a way to start a day! How many years ago did the Durham Cats go out and play a killer preseason schedule, rose to the top twenty in the rpi, only to "fold" the end of big sky play? We did pretty well in Puerto Rico, against Xavier, St Louis, (can't remember the rest of the schedule)....

I see two or three 1A football conferences are going with instant replay this year. Would that improve things in the BSC, or would the ref spend most of the day on the sideline looking at replays?

Hell, as bad as they screw things up already, the coaches wouldn't have enough flags to try and correct things  Besides, I doubt the League will allow their calls or integrity to be questioned

I doubt enough of the BSC games have enough camera's to make it a league rule
