I found that interesting. It was also pretty neat what he said about his dad and how the real value that coaching brought to his life was the impact he had in developing young men and what it meant to the community. He gets it. Of course he'll have to get results on the field too. Looking forward to seeing what he puts together for a staff.
Good catch, I missed that the first time. So in the QB room off the top of my head we'll have Austin, Mellott, Thelen, McKay, Bauman, and Rovig? Anyone else I'm missing?

OMG - can you imagine if coach Vigen came out and said right off the bat, we're moving TA to QB? There would certainly be some strong opinions about that on Bobcat Nation.

Anyone have a photo of Tom Osborne when he was 48? Vigen looks and talks and has similar mannerisms as Osborne.

I don’t see the similarity.

Is there a better chance we see Troy back on offense with Vigen? I think so and personally I would love it. Not at QB except in the wildcat at times. The guy is a TD waiting to happen every time he touches the ball.

I don't see the resemblance either but maybe that was his game face back in the day. I know lots of guys who are bald or buzz cut these days that could've fit right in with a hair band years ago.

Well to say Troy "back on offense" might not quite be accurate because I believe at one point Choate said that TA would ALWAYS play some downs on offense in certain situations through his entire carreer.

I think Troy Andersen has NFL talent. Choate did a poor job of developing his potential with the constant position shifts (RB, QB, LB). I heard an interview with Coach Binford in which she said she had a responsibility to develop Darian White's skill set for the next level. I wish Choate would have taken that approach with Troy, for Troy's future wellbeing.

As Herm Edwards said, "You play to WIN THE GAME". In Troy's first two years Choate did not often have the option to do anything he could other than adhere to that philosophy and use his personnel accordingly.

Exactly, Choate's first responsibility was to win games. Heck, Troy was Big Sky freshman of the year, Big Sky 1st team selection at Quarterback, and Big Sky 1st team selection at Linebacker. I'd say he has developed pretty well at a number of positions. If it wasn't for injuries, Troy may have even won higher level awards.

All I can think about when we start talking about Anderson is the movie Multiplicity. But I’d only want one each for offense and defense. 🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥

I can’t wait to see what Vigen does with Ifanse. I can see him going over 1,000 yards easily this year.

If playing in the NFL meant everything to Troy he would have never accepted an offer to MSU.

Same here! And I think Ifanse would’ve had well over 1000 yards in 2019 if not for injuries.

As deep as we are at RB, we could have a couple of them have great seasons. With that said Infanse is special, his patience behind the best line in the conference, it will be fun to watch.

I would hate it. Troy can't take tons of hits at RB and then hit tons of people at LB. That's not fair to him. And look. He got injured and was going to redshirt 2020. As said, he has next level LB talent. Let him prove his chops there. I heard a couple years ago, as high as 3rd? Maybe 2nd road type of talent. From a knowledgeable person.

I’m curious. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of excitement on this board for the hire of Vigen. I expected 20 pages by now. What gives? Or am I just setting the bar to high?
