So funny to read fan comments on both sides that read like they are the people playing the game and not just watching it.

Hmmmm.....last time NDSU played Griz...December 5, 2015. 2nd round of playoffs. Final score...37-6. A month later beats Jacksonville for another National title. Matchups???? HahahahaFTG_1984 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 7:58 amLet's face it - NDSU is a Top 20 FBS team. Maybe even a Top 15. I'm not saying it's impossible for MSU to keep in close but IMO it would require some HUGE breaks, like they're QB and maybe a few other key players getting ejected, or 5+ fluke turnovers for us, etc.
However, they will not overmatch us at every position, whether they believe that or not. They do not have a Troy Anderson at QB. They do not have an athlete like Jonsen on their entire roster. They do not have a true frosh RB like we have.
They also have not dismantled a legacy FCS program who is their bitter rival like the Bobcats have done to the dark pink fags. In fact, last time NDSU played the jizz I don't think things went too well for them.

But man.... their fanbase’s arrogance is second to none.
I’m also friends with a few NDSU alums....
Of course that’s not meant as a blanket statement to say their whole fan base is like that, so I probably should have clarified that it’s some of their fan base, not all. Just like every fan base, most are great but there is always a portion that are over the top, and in my personal experience they have a large number of those “over the top” fans.![]()

Your school has been able to maintain stability and continuity while that institution I received my bachelors at, MSU, experienced several years of constant turmoil and the entire school was in financial trouble. Fortunately, our Board of Regents made one of the most incredible hires this state has ever made in the person of Waded Cruzado. She does not accept excuses. Very result oriented and not afraid to bring another in who will bring about desired results.
This game on December 1, 2018 will provide a great measuring stick as to whether or not Waded and her committee made the correct hire for the representative and first impression of our institution. Just as that Bobcat team of 1976 had to beat the Bison not just once but twice and still many felt they'd get their arses handed to them by Akron, they made believers out of this state.
I don't have a crystal ball and don't really have much more than a passing interest in the teams playing anymore other than they are grandchildren of some of my college classmates. Those kids wearing the Blue and Gold this year reminds me an awful lot of the "kids" on that 76 team in their overall demeanor and conduct on the field. Off the field seems to be a bit better, in my opinion as I've not heard anything about the "Thursday Night Social Club."
One thing I can guarantee about this year's Bobcat football team is that they play MSU Bobcat football. For the first time this year, yesterday I did not see a single dropped pass! I saw visions of a crazy red head from Westby out on the edge on defense and the secondary looked more than ready. I personally look forward to the trip to Fargo and a rather large family reunion. We'll even welcome those relatives who went to UND and Missoula--as long as they keep their mouths shut.
See you there. You won't be able to miss me. I'll be wearing blue and gold. Will have a bloody mary and a plate of lutefisk waiting for ya!

You have a great team that is the envy of the FCS. We hope to get there some day and this year has been a step in the right direction. The fact is, we are not at your level. Any reasonable fan knows that and understands that the game on Saturday will likely be one-sided. Nevertheless it's a great opportunity for our guys to see what excellence looks like. Best of luck to your Bison and thanks in advance for treating our fans well. You know we will reciprocate should you ever come to Bozeman.

I have no doubt the vast, vast majority of Bison FANS are great, accommodating people. When NDSU visited MSU for the playoff game in 2010 (?), most were great. One or two exceptions in our section, but the majority were fine.
Those inhabiting internet fan boards though, yeah. I'd stand by the "most are the biggest assholes on the net." Visit the history here, AGS, or any team's board surrounding particularly a playoff game. I'm sure most are the same half-dozen to a dozen jerks across sites. Fans? Most are great. Message board inhabitants? Not so much.

As long as our boys go out there and continue to fight and get back up no matter how many punches we take, I’ll be happy with the outcome.
If I was Choate that would be my message. Give them everything you got and we’ll see what the scoreboard says at the end of it.
IMO, as a sophomore, TA has been the best player on the field in every game he’s played and I don’t think that changes on Saturday. When the best guy is wearing your colors you have a shot.

It is clear reading here and on NDSU's fan web site - they are overlooking MSU as a threat. That is a really good place to start for us going to Fargo this week.

Unlike Griz fans, almost all the Bison fans I've met in person are kind, well-mannered people. It's why I tend to root for them whenever MSU is out. Where the hell did these doucebags come from? Trust the internet to bring the scum out I guess?
Any Bison that takes the time to read through this forum knows the vast majority of us think it is exceedingly unlikely that we even get close on Saturday. The few that think otherwise are kidding themselves.
Something I read on a random article about the game - I don't have the exact stats in front of me, but it was something alomg the lines of the Bison being 26-2 in the playoffs and 6-2 in championship games in the past 8 years. It's just chilling - you know they're good, but to see those stats listed out like that just sounds absurd. How often are teams ever that consistently dominant? Crazy to think about.

Re: I’m calling it right now, we beat NDSU in round 2!
When you have a sophomore quarterback who led your team to eight wins and is only a half dozen dropped passes away from being a nine, possibly ten win quarterback and factoring in those losses were early in the season and he was dinged up, I think the Cats will put on a decent show well worth the drive to Fargo.utucats wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 7:37 pmAs long as our boys go out there and continue to fight and get back up no matter how many punches we take, I’ll be happy with the outcome.
I like the team atmosphere of this team over what I'd gotten used to seeing this time of year. These kids really think they are going to win no matter who they play and man, that's a great attitude.
By no means is this just the Troy Andersen show either but dang, he's got it! Can't wait for Saturday.

It's absolutely incredible as I said in another thread. I'd rather be playing Washington State. However, I'm not being negative about it at all, it should be fun as long as we don't get completely blown out of the water.CPrice91 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 7:58 pmUnlike Griz fans, almost all the Bison fans I've met in person are kind, well-mannered people. Any Bison that takes the time to read through this forum knows the vast majority of us think it is exceedingly unlikely that we even get close on Saturday. The few that think otherwise are kidding themselves.
Something I read on a random article about the game - I don't have the exact stats in front of me, but it was something alomg the lines of the Bison being 26-2 in the playoffs and 6-8 in championship games in the past 8 years. It's just chilling - you know they're good, but to see those stats listed out like that just sounds absurd. How often are teams ever that consistently dominant? Crazy to think about.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

I remember the 63 and 64 team. I remember the 72 team and two kids on that team who always beat the ROTC kids to the fieldhouse to workout in the morning. Both had great NFL careers and I vividly recall where the 76 and 84 teams were picked to finish just in conference play. This group of kids has matured as a team this year and it's as if I'm watching all those old Cat teams. The plays are replicating the impossible defensive plays kids like Fellows made, the kid from Westby. WESTBY????? Kollar. McCullum. Dennehy. Ueland(s).catatac wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 8:03 pmIt's absolutely incredible as I said in another thread. I'd rather be playing Washington State. This bunch of kids are just as tough as those kids were. Plus they are making the same kind of plays on special teams and defense as those teams made. Get your tickets tomorrow and get a caravan to Fargo going. Stop and do what they did when they came to Montana a few years ago when they got to the Montana sign...

It is a long shot to win. But no matter what the outcome this Saturday you have to be proud of how hard this team has played down the stretch. After the ISU loss it has been backs to the wall. You can tell from the interviews the players believe in themselves, their team mates and the coaching staff. Says a lot about this program.

Not to sound like I'm making excuses, but we're far from 100% health wise. We're going to need all hands on deck, particularly on defense to have a shot.

My guess is they’ll be about 25-28 point favorites. But that’s why they play the game.
