I'm surprised we play UND one last time as we did not play our old so-called rival in 2018.

Only thing I don't like about next year schedule is no Idaho, no Idaho State, no Eastern Washington, and no Weber. So what is strength of schedule going to look like?

I like the 6 games at home.
I like fun road trips to Texas Tech and Davis.
And I like that I can watch the Cats beat the Griz four straight and don't have to drive to Missoula to do so.
Can't wait!

What I really want to see is an opening win at Texas Tech.

Re: 2019 schedule is available
Schedule has been out for quite awhile. I don’t think losing Idaho or Idaho State hurts the SOS much. TT and SEMO probably balance out the EWU and WSU games.Montanabob wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 9:15 amOnly thing I don't like about next year schedule is no Idaho, no Idaho State, no Eastern Washington, and no Weber. MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

2019 is no cream puff schedule. An FBS team, potential playoff teams with SEMO, Western Illinois, UC Davis, North Dakota and the Griz. Throw in SUU and NAU as dangerous opponents every two or three years.gtapp wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 9:45 amLike um's schedule last year.Montanabob wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 9:15 amOnly thing I don't like about next year schedule is no Idaho, no Idaho State, no Eastern Washington, and no Weber. SUU is one of those teams that can get really good over one offseason with transfers and players coming back from missions.Cataholic wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 12:00 pm2019 is no cream puff schedule. Not to mention the odd 300 pound, 30 year old +, Defensive lineman that can be “found” on campus.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 30, 2018 10:53 amSUU is one of those teams that can get really good over one offseason with transfers and players coming back from missions.Cataholic wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 12:00 pm2019 is no cream puff schedule. Re: 2019 schedule is available
I'd say we have 11 games on our schedule that are very winnable. The toughest 3 in order are; @Texas Tech, @UC Davic & @WIU, followed by @UND, SEMO, NAU & um. Having our BYE week on Oct 19th after our 7th game with 5 games remaining seems like an ideal time to have it. It'd be great if the SEMO game was a night game for Gold Rush. Re: 2019 schedule is available
For those of us that might be thinking of a trip to Macomb for the Western Illinois game, here's a little head's up:

http://www.leathernecknation.net/forum/ ... f=7&t=1911
Does anyone know who owns the Macomb Inn?
I wish they would get an investor or sell the property to someone who can, and would, clean that place up to livable. If we are going to grow our attendance to where it could be, those rooms would be extremely helpful. We had family members that went to the UNI game, and left after the game to drive 4 hrs back to KC after they saw how bad their room was. And not structurally, but just extremely dirty, and not kept up with maintenance.
I understand that outside of football weekends, there are only a very few other dates that the space is needed. Because of this, new Hotels are not likely at this point. But how hard would it be to give 20-30 of their rooms a good scrubbing? Replace some curtains, bedding and towels? I'd also work with Chad at Chubby's, or another local restaurateur, to put some kind of restaurant at the property for additional revenue. Maybe even banquet or rental space. With my family and friends alone, we could fill 5-6 of these every home game. The other parents of the 100 players would probably have similar use. But as things are now, most of them I will have go to away games instead of Macomb. There just isn't rooms for everyone to stay. And not only would the group go the game, we would all go for dinner somewhere after, probably some drinks after that. Then breakfast and gas on the way out in the morning. The lack of rooms in town is really costing the economy of Macomb $$.
I have 3 rooms reserved for every Saturday of the season next year right now; and will cancel as I see which ones I will need. I had to do this a year in advance because I ran into some weekends last season where I couldn't get a room. There are already a couple Saturdays that are full for next season! Except for the Macomb Inn, and those trashy rooms are available for $60-$80 a night.

Re: 2019 schedule is available
I would guess we have a minimum of 7 wins and at most 11.
The one certain loss will be @ TT.
Likely loss @ UC Davis
The toss up games will be @ W. Ill, @ CP, @ ND, and UM
The rest are not 100% guaranteed wins, but they should be a victory.
I figure we win at least 2 of the 4 toss up games, putting us at 8 - 4

2019 Schedule
See the new schedule is out with Texas Tech as headliner- good money there, and our D Line will get an early test.
We also have another 3 non-conference games which makes a total of four- had three in '18. Western Ill there will be a good one.
We aren't playing Weber, Eastern or ISU but get UC Davis- could be a little easier in conference. The Griz had a pretty easy sched last year- it will be interesting to see theirs this year

And not to pile on here sixman but the Griz schedule has been out for quite a while and it's posted in the other forum. It's a brutal meat grinder that they'l be lucky to go .500 with.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 1:35 pmDo you ever read anything previously posted before you post on here?six--man wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 1:25 pmSee the new schedule is out with Texas Tech as headliner- good money there, and our D Line will get an early test.
