Murray
I watched the coaches FB broadcast yesterday. When asked about status of Murray for next year, he said it all depends on his academic's for this current semester. I'm thinking, since he didn't comment that it looked positive at this point, that Murray is still struggling to get his academics to an acceptable level. Does anyone else see it that way? He has the athletic talent to help.

Re: Murray
I could be wrong, but this is the way I always understood it. Murray had to take and pass some online classes to be eligible as a student at MSU. My guess is that he now has to have a successful semester at MSU in order to be able to join the team again. So I don’t think it necessarily means that he is currently struggling, but rather that he has to have a successful semester to fulfill his requirements to rejoin the team. That is the way I always read between the lines on this. In other words, he is now eligible to be a student at MSU, but not yet eligible as an athlete.

Re: Murray
Sounds like he has to prove himself academically spring semester and if he does then he’d get an invite to fall camp if he was physically prepared.

Re: Murray
Sounds like Choate is preparing for life without him - which is smart. If he comes back (and I hope he does) than that's a "bonus".

Re: Murray
Here's the quote: “He has reapplied for admission and what his academic standing will be determined by this semester, really,” Choate said. “It wasn’t what he had to do last semester. It’s what he has to do this semester to get back into good academic standing. I think he knows what he needs to do and he’s moving forward on his own to get that done.”

Re: Murray
I think this means that next fall will be his soonest return. When and if he does, he will be asked to be a team player like Jonsen.Colter_Nuanez wrote: ↑Thu Dec 20, 2018 9:20 pmHere's the quote: “He has reapplied for admission and what his academic standing will be determined by this semester, really,” Choate said. “It wasn’t what he had to do last semester. Re: Murray
Damn, I sure hope he returns. I think he is our best option at QB. I think he is better than even Great Jensen would have been.

Yes, I am not a Jensen fan either. Glad he ended up in Texas.

Re: Murray
got it
good for him, rooting for him to get his degree, get back on the football field. wouldn't mind seeing Bauman dropping back, 4 all-go routes with TA, Jonsen, Murray, and Jaden Smith flying downfield.

Re: Murray
Great news for CM as a person to be back in school at MSU. I must say, I hate the speculation on here about "is he still struggling" etc. I can't imagine having a bunch of random adults speculating about my grades and effort when I was in college. My parents did enough of that!!!
Some people are a lot like slinkies....... Not really good for much, but it puts a smile on your face to watch them fall down a set of stairs.

would be fun to have a series where first 3 plays were deep all-go, just rotate 4/5 new guys in each play

Re: Murray
This was his instagram story the other day. I know a lot more goes into than just what CM says himself and whether he will play or not. Choate, MSU and the NCAA will have a rather large say in it as well. But it looks like he is dead set on working his a$$ off to put him in a good position to try and rejoin the team.

Long time lurker and never have posted, unless in my college years. However, and I know not for all Griz fans, is this really the mentality of fans in general. Personally, this is the mentality of a life long rider of the pine. Heff, there is more to life then being glued to social media and calling others cowards. Live a little, dude.

Good on him for getting back to MSU. Hope he does enough to get back on the field. I think we might have had a shot at the conference if he’d have played last season.

This. Wouldn't have taken a ton better qb play in that middle stretch where we lost 3 of 4, to swing 1 or 2 of those games. Dammit utu, I've responded to your postings like 6 times since the playoffs started and not once have i argued with you... must be the Christmas spirit.
