Post by mslacatfan » Sun Nov 04, 2018 9:09 pm

alrighty, gonna get this thing rolling again. I said it before, but the reason I had not started it at the beginning of the season is because there really were not any career records to track at that point... but now there are a few players approaching different career or season records, so I will start updating. Cody Kirk's career rushing TD record is incredible. If the south end zone wasn't already named for Sonny Holland they could easily name it after him. He spent some much time there.

I'm impressed with the numbers by both Andersen and Ifanse. Ryan Johnson is just unreal too; maybe my favorite Cat ever! His monster 200+ yd. games are just legendary. Is his number retired; because he needs to have his number retired! Kirk scored a ton too!

Also, someone sent me a message about Paul Schafer, and his career rushing number. sounds like it is closer to 2,200?????

Can someone confirm?

I get my info off of the records list on the athletics web page...……………… in my opinion they do a terrible job of accurately tracking these records. Let me know if there is a change for the list I have on the thread. I would also advise sending a note to the athletic department so they can hopefully update the change (if its wrong).

One that always jumps out to me as well, along with all the small errors.... On their record pages, looking at All Purpose yards career...……. it is missing Cody Kirk, who should be somewhere in the top 5...…….. I have brought this up every year the last 4 years or whatever its been...…. but it never gets fixed.

like I said. In my opinion, whoever is in charge of managing the record lists at the athletic department does a piss poor job.

Just a quick note @mslacatfan but I believe Ifanse is right on the cusp of breaking the freshman rushing yards record. Rewatching the Cat-Griz game last night, the announcers were mentioning that the current record was set by Murray in 2016 at 860 rushing yards. According to your list above Ifanse is at 843 yards for the season, so I believe he will probably end up breaking that record next week, barring injury or crazy setbacks. Can you confirm at all?

I'm pretty sure there was a graphic on the telecast last night. I can't watch it right now, but I'll try to get you a screenshot of that graphic if I can sometime tonight. If anyone else has time, it was in the first quarter. I want to say it was on the Bobcats second drive, when we started out on the 1. I'm not sure that graphic is exactly "official" but it's something!

I think he needs like 18 yards

The sack total by Mark Fellows is unbelievable. But I saw it with my own eyes :)

Might I suggest a new category for the record watch? Head coach winning percentage against UM? :-^ :suds:

Will the playoff game add to the season records or are they based just on the regular season?

First and foremast- All I care about is the Cats winning this game, no matter how that happens. With that being said...… man, TA is in line to crush a bunch of single season records. Some other players as well, like Sterk TFL and sacks list, Ifanse vs freshman records.... Especially if they win this game and play again the following weekend. just crazy.

I think Ifanse already broke the freshman RB record, which was Aaron Mason 645 yards. The freshman record is Murray 860. Ifanse needs 17 to tie.

ummm, you kind of say 2 different things there?

anyway, yeah, I think he needs 17 yards to break the freshman record, which is held by Murray.
