Re: Worthy leaving
Huge bummer for me.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

This can't be a surprise. Has played a fairly limited number of minutes and four more players coming in.Hawks86 wrote:Why? I kind of figured that he might leave.RickRund wrote:Yes, not the best news of the day.CatBlitz wrote:Huge bummer for me.

Re: Worthy leaving
I was not surprised since mslacat has reported that the coaches have been looking to offer to a point guard. Worthy is a great player, i'm sure. But with his injury, it seems he just was not able to come back 100%.

Re: Worthy leaving
This announcement didn't surprise me as much as it may have surprised some. He was way down on the playing time depth chart, and really right when he did start to show promise with some playing time with Joe out, he broke his hand. With another guard coming in, he would have been even deeper on the depth chart. It is just the way it goes for some guys. I hope it all works out for him.

Interesting, it seems former MSU player Tyson Kanseyo is also signing with Azusa.

Re: Worthy leaving
I believe Azusa is the same D-2 school that Mo Fall went to when the NCAA ruled he had used up all his D-1 eligibility. They won a National championship the next year. Kanseyo also playing there would really help out MSU Basketball APR I believe. When a player leaves a school and signs with a 4 year school we take a little hit, if he signs with a JC (2 year) we take a bigger hit, but if out right quits college we take a big hit. Our single year APR for last year was our worse in a decade since both Bllake and Kanseyo quit the team and did not enroll in a college this past year. I am hoping that Kanseyo enrolling at Azusa may boost out 2015-16 APR a little.msu_agfan wrote:Interesting, it seems former MSU player Tyson Kanseyo is also signing with Azusa.
I wonder if they have another scholarship available for Blake?
As for Worthy, I think his knee injury to a little bit out of what he could do athletically this year, still I think he could have been a solid contributor for the Bobcats down the line (he was only a freshman). I am betting with his versatility he is going to make a big impact right away at Azusa, and if comes back 100% from the knee injury look out.
