Great College towns

Post by 89rabbit » Tue Aug 17, 2004 10:23 am

Looks like MSU and SDSU have something else in common besides being State Universities, we are both in Great College towns. Bozeman ranks #2 in small cities and Brookings ranks #3 in towns. They do a nice job of breaking down the facts, although the SDSU enrollment number is way off. SDSU currently has 10,500 + students.

GREAT COLLEGE TOWNS

In our view, great college towns have a spark that comes not only from young blood, but from jazz clubs, literary events, book stores and cafes. They are intellectual, cultural and economic hubs, balancing tradition with new business growth. Often, they mix urban amenities and small-town charm.

Couldn't agree more about Bozeman. Awesome small 'city'. I have never been to Brookings, but if they rank Bozeman at #2 then they must be doing their homework/researching so I'm sure this poll is pretty accurate :)

They mention Hays and Manhattan Kansas....but no Lawrance KS...If you have ever lived in Kansas you know how wrong this list is.

For big cities, Denver is #3. HUH? Is this for the University of Denver?

Plus Austin is way funner than Denver. Austin has 3 lakes to go boating, a mile of bars and a big school.....I can go on and on.

Here's another story that won't lead to cheaper housing in Bozeman:
