Watching the games

Post by The Butcher » Tue Aug 22, 2017 7:48 am

Quick question; I have recently relocated to a place that does not have ROOT TV and can't stand the thought of missing the games. I thought there was a gadget that I could have hooked up to one of my Montana buddies TV/internet to help stream from their cable package over to me in la la land? Need a little help to figure out how to do this.

I believe it's called a sling box.

Make sure you get one that can stream a separate channel, so you don't have to "hijack" his cable, so to speak. What I mean is that the older slingboxes, and maybe even some of the more base models, simply let you take control of the cable box remotely. So the person in the living room of the cable box you are controlling sees exactly what you see. I believe they make them now where you can "tap in" to the cable box without disrupting their viewing.
