Words I am getting tired of hearing while camping....

Post by RickRund » Wed Aug 17, 2016 10:38 pm

here in Seeley Lake are "you know you are in Griz country here" while walking around with all my CAT gear on..... Ahhhhhh, not really. I think I am accomplishing something here. Maybe I am getting under their skin.

I wear my Bobcat gear every time I'm in Seely at our friends cabins, they all are Griz fans so you tend to be outnumbered. It's all friendly ribbing, which is fine, and once you break out the fresh kettlehouse beer growlers, well it gets real friendly. I once got a little smack talk at me in the hardware store, and my reply was that I live in Missoula, and it's really pretty nice there, and it's only 30 minutes from Montana. Not another comment, just the sound of the "microphone drop". :-$

The State of Montana is Bobcat country.
missoula....still just 20 miles from Montana.

Most grizzers that have asshat comments bought their crap at Walmart. They never set foot in a griz classroom. #Truth!

On the way back to Idaho we stopped at Cracker Barrel and I saw several CAT Fans. Met a couple of neat older grandma's and a neat older gentleman. He asked if I knew Monte Boston. It was his Father in Law. Not really sure if Monte remembers but yes I know Monte Boston...
Did meet a couple of BOBCATS while camping.

Considering all the players we have from Glacier High on our roster (must be about 7 or 8 counting the 2 new incoming 2017 recruits), you'd think MSU might be picking up some new fans up in the Flathead area. Actually, we have quite a few players from the west side of the mountains in general, beyond just the kids from Glacier High.

Just curious... Were the Griz interested in Cody Kirk? You cannot get any closer to missoula.

I don't know about that, but I do know that he comes from a very strong Bobcat family. His uncle (Mahlum...can't remember his first name) played on the 1984 NC team. In fact, I believe there is a Mahlum currently on the MSU roster, who played at Missoula Hellgate, that is Cody's cousin (possibly the elder Mahlum's son?).

I try hard to stay civil but it depends who the person is that is commenting.

I am always on the lookout for griz gear here in MN. I see it occasionally. I always have the same response: I ask if they lost a bet and when they inquire about why I always tell them that the only possible way anyone would wear something that ugly is if they lost a bet! When I lived in San Diego, the guy that came over to fix my furnace, his son was a QB for the griz. He couldn't wait to get that job done.

I will be remembering that comeback. Good one
