Self-promotion alert: Novel update

Post by SonomaCat » Mon Sep 19, 2005 3:33 pm

The subject line should have chased away those who don't give a rat's arse about this, and I am hoping it captured those people who I have spoken to about my writing project and any others who are interested.

After many months of buffing and chopping, I have a new draft of my novel manuscript finished and available for download in Word format on my website at:

http://thebergum.com/pages/2/index.htm

Please note that it is currently 110 pages single-spaced to use as little paper as possible.

This project seems to never end for me. Just as I get to a point that I think I am happy with the way it reads, I go back and change something significantly, and then I resent the fact that anybody has ever read it in its previous, crappier, state. After about 100 of these iterations, I feel like it is in pretty good shape, and I am now pushing forward in beginning to refine and submit a synopsis of the book to publishers and agents.

So if anybody has any connections with publishers or literary agents and could give me an assist (assuming you think the book is worthy of such attention), I am more than happy to take whatever help that can be provided.

And still, even though I've done countless revisions already, if you happen to read the manuscript and find something (plot, characters, misuse of any terms or historical events, etc.) that you think can be improved upon, I am always very, very grateful in receiving your constructive criticism.

Thanks to those of you who have given me constructive feedback and assistance so far -- I can't stress enough how much that has helped me!
