I just wanted to send a reminder to you who played to check in on your keepers and post here if you have any suggestions on how to adapt for this next year. I will also send out a reminder through ESPN. If there are any that don't want to play again, let me know that as well so we can post on the site for new players

Thanks
Hey Catamaran,

I can't remember if I was in this league last year....or if I was in a fantasy football leauge..........

Maybe it was another bobcatnation league on CBS? Hmmm....LOL.....was I in your league?

Just went to ESPN, I was in a football league.

If you do have others who don't play and need another participant let me know, I would love to win....I mean play.
I am going to have to bow out this year so vike_king can take my spot.
I've got a list going, sorry you have to cut out.
Glad to be on the list, let me know if I make the squad!!!!
you've got it..........when things get back up, i'll see if you were on last year, if not, you'll be first if another team opens up

Catamaran,
I am not going to play this year. Last year I couldn't pay much attention to it and I know I won't be able to this year. Please give my spot to someone else. My team was the New Hayden Dozers.
Thanks,
Dave Weller

This team goes to vike (assuming he doesn't already have one)

Someone can have my team. They're one tragic boat accident in open ocean.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

the league is now ready. for those of you who haven't gotten on and picked keepers, get on and do it. keep four unless any of you have suggestions and we can run a poll on changes

I might as well unload all of my players if we're doing another keeper year. :)

Good possibility. When can we start doing stuff with our teams again?

Done deal. Now, what to do with my #1 pick...

My keepers are selected (Lincecum & Halladay) - I didn't go with the full four because I think ESPN allows you to have extra draft picks of non-keepers if you don't keep the maximum...hard to believe it's almost time for spring training already!

you have the same amount of draft picks, you'll just be taking a player when everyone else has a keeper. You'll essentially be taking a player that would be available in round 5 anyway, without the two you dropped

So even if I select 4 keepers I'll still have the #1 pick and there will be no one picking ahead of me, right? I though I remembered people that didn't use all 4 of their keepers got to pick before everyone else.

they'll be picking in the interim. example. round three comes up, you "pick" your third keeper and then whatever position msu01 would take a keeper, he gets a player. I thought we had voted to penalize for not taking keepers but couldn't find it. If people are interested, I could put up a poll before the keeper date to see what the league thinks

I tried doing that last year, and one of the frustrations was that the draft didn't "snake".

For example I think me and (I don't remember who, but let's say) msu01 were drafting in the 2nd 3rd and 4th rounds. MSU01 got the first pick in each of those rounds, and I got the 2nd pick. All in all I think I got one different player that what I would have kept...so it was really a wash.

Also, if I remember correctly, I think it there was discussion that everyone would be required to keep 4 players.

the first four don't snake because those picks are already set ie keepers. I put up a poll for people to vote on their feelings. I wasn't very proactive as commissioner last year but will try harder this year

My only problem with being forced to keep 4 players is that mine all suck minus a couple. I'd probably keep Jimenez, Hanson, Phillips, and Dunn if I had to. Jiminez is maybe worth a high pick but hardly any of my team would be picked in the first 4-5 rounds regardless of who they are. It's hard to improve my team when, essentially, the first 4 rounds of the draft don't even really count. You can't improve without any top-tier talent available.
