This one just pisses me off. In what world would we pay someone less than the minimum wage?

Yeah, I'm not sure why this move to pay seasonal workers less than minimum wage has gained so much traction.

Also not sure why people would be against a public lands day in Montana.

It's insane. If that's the case just abolish the minimum wage altogether. In my mind it's borderline discrimination against those jobs/people. At the very least it is unethical. Most of the people that work those jobs do it for an experience and lots of them have to pay the places for housing and food. The good news is the places that pay that will be the last ones people will look to get jobs at and will suffer on the business end from the lack of quality help. I wouldn't patronize any business that intentionally pays their employees lower than the minimum.

I'm for a public lands day except if it costs money. They need to show me that it wouldn't cost the tax payers money then I'm all for it.

By the by Curtis is kind of annoying, she very much has a holier than thou approach. But it's cool she does these videos. I hope people read the bills and just don't take her word for it.

And just to clarify, I'm not posting her videos because I think she's right on everything or that I'm endorsing her or anything like that, it's just the best place I've found for a quick daily rundown of what's going on in the legislature. Obviously she has a slanted perspective, some I agree with, some I don't, but I appreciate her doing these daily updates, I wish more representatives would do something similar.

Completely agree. It's also nice to just hit the highlights of the bills that have a chance. You can really get caught up in paying attention to bills that have no chance anyway.

A good example is the local option sales tax. There is literally no way it will get passed. (In theory I actually agree with it). Hotels get stuck with a huge tax burden and it is unfair to force more hotel taxes without taxing other entities.

What wbtfg posted is being followed nationally. MSNBC had Bullock on last week discussing it and a republican legislator last night.

Should Sharia Law be outlawed?

Check out SB 309. What do you think?

Yes, emphatically. It does not comport with the US Constitution.
