#51 - Anika Miller (MSU skiing) is national champion

Post by TomCat88 » Thu Mar 10, 2016 8:54 pm

I know this will get moved, but since this is the board everyone checks first and this is such a momentous occasion I'll put it here. MSU now has 51 individual national champions.

Congrats Anika Miller and MSU ski team!

MSU - 14 team National Champions (most recent 2011); 52 individual National Champions (most recent 2017).

And the MSU team is currently leading the competition halfway through, only the 7th different school ever to lead at this point. Pretty awesome stuff, hope they can keep it up!

Congrats!

I just started skiing this year and it's a blast, I love it. I've been skiing five times in the last month and a half, it's addictive as hell.

Looks like some people need to check the other boards every once in awhile. :P

I just went and looked at the thread you started on that other board and I very much appreciate you doing that, but I never would've known about this because it was buried in the general thread about the NCAA skiing championships. This is HUGE news and deserves to be posted in a way that signifies it. Kind of like when we get a verbal commit in basketball or football, but no one starts a new thread on that player and they just post in the general thread on recruiting. The player doesn't get the fitting recognition and a lot of us don't know about it until days later.

What would be really cool is if this board had a BREAKING NEWS ticker that scrolls across the top of every page, so when something significant happens we know to go looking for more details on it.
