I would tend to agree with john K on sight selection.
As far as the look of the Boise facility for basketball, it's ok but meh.
Now if you were to put a sheet of ice down with a goal at each end a couple of blue lines etc. etc. the place would look awesome!

In any case, good luck to both the men and women GO CATS!

The sixth seed is perfect. We get an opening game that should allow us to get one under the belt and then the next two are teams that we have already beaten. We are going to enjoy this tournament but will miss Reno when the games are not being played.

For just a few years back in the late 80's, the BSC had the previous year's regular season champ host the tourney. I actually sort of like that idea...i'ts sort of a hybrid between the other 2 formats. The champion does get rewarded for winning the conference, even though it's not until the following season, and you have a pre-determined site. If we're going to agree that it's just too difficult logistically not to have a pre-determined site, I like that idea better than any of the other options, i.e a non-BSC city hosting, or bidding it out to a BSC city, or rotating among all the BSC schools. And it's sort of a consolation prize to the regular season champ, if they end up not winning the tourney. That happened to MSU in 1987-1988. We won the regular season title in 1987 but got upset in the 1st round of the tourney, which was hosted by the 1986 regular season champ. Then we hosted the tourney the next year in 1988 and made it to the championship game as the #3 seed. Those may have been the only 2 years the BSC used that format. It's not ideal, but In many ways I think it might be the best option.
BTW, the 1988 tournament in Bozeman is stil the most attended Big Sky tournament ever. It is not ideal to host the next year, but I think
it is the best alternative. 4 day tournament had about 36,000 fans.

Actually, I believe the Idaho Steelheads hockey team plays their home games in that same arena, along with Boise's G-League basketball team. I think BSU plays their home games in their on-campus facility though. It used to be called Taco Bell Arena, but I'm not sure if that's still the name.

I'm having severe flashbacks to 2016 right now. That MSU team was 16-15 (11-7) and SUU was 5-26. We're 14-16 (11-9) AND IDAHO IS 5-26.

Was that 2016, when we lost to last place SUU? I thought it was just 2 years ago...2017?

Lady griz lost yesterday to SUU.

Will Schweyen's job be on the line after this season?

I believe this was her 3rd season? Or was it her 4th already? I've always believed a coach should get at least 4 years, simply because it takes that long before you're playing with mostly your own players. She's gotta be on the hot seat though. I know they've had a ton of injuries every year since she took over, but still, they have fallen a long, long ways from the days when they used to win the BSC virtually every year. They've finished in the lower half of the conference every year of her tenure, not to mention being 2-7 in her last 9 games against MSU.

I noticed the BSC website is still showing TBD as the time for our men's game tomorrow night. It's not much more than 24 hours until tipoff...would be nice to know what time it starts.

There are six games on Wednesday...Montana State's is the last one. The game could start as early as 8 and as late as 10 p.m....

Aren't the men's games in the morning and the women's semi-finals in the evening on Wednesday?

From that bracket, it would look like MSU's game should start about 230 or 300 local time. Are they Mountain Time or Pacific? That assumes that game 2 will follow game 1 and then game 3 would be next(us).

Boise is Mountain Time, but northern Idaho is Pacific Time.
