Not right now...they can't defend the rim, and can't make layups! EWU 57-48 they were ahead by 2 at the half....losing the boards by 6. Hall has like 3 points

Tied up 62 all. Game is at MSU. 4:22 left in the game, we just came back from a 10pt deficit.

Very entertaining game!

Big win!

Kirby had like 4 or 5 huge dunks off of lob passes. Sweet!

Hall may be the all-time leading scorer in Big Sky conference history, but Harald Frey is clearly the best (most valuable) player on the team. The kid doesn’t quit. He is a winner.

Pulled my second Costanza in a week....as soon as I complain about how bad they are, they make a run and win! Check it out from last game

Both teams looked a little sluggish-definitely feeling the conference grind. We had a 2 point lead at halftime. I kept thinking that we were about to blow it open as I figured Tyler would hit a couple of threes...but instead EWU went on a 12-0 run and we were down 10. Then Fish switched to a zone and we outscored them 23-7 the rest of the way. Tyler Hall indeed only had 5 points and looked a little out of sorts, but he's being double and triple teamed every night. So he didn't score, but he didn't press and take a lot of bad contested shots. He had 7 rebounds, a couple of steals, 3 blocks, and a great lob to Kirby for a dunk. Frey was also guarded very tight, but he finally broke free. The shot that tied it was a pass from Hall who set up Frey and passed on a guarded look to get his teammate for an open look. Because our guards were so closely guarded, Kirby had free reign and ended up with a career high 19 with several dunks.
A very hard earned and gratifying win. Hopefully they can take care of business against Idaho on Saturday.
Disappointing crowd tonight. Come out and watch this team!!!

Nice win for the Cats...especially considering Tyler only had 5 points..usually can count on him for 20+.

This was another great win for this team...Eastern had been on fire. I was a little nervous when we got down by 10, but they changed defenses and locked Eastern down. Tyler wasn't himself scoring like he does, but did feel he contributed in some big ways in this game even without his shot falling. Not sure if he was feeling well, but he was being mauled by their defense. He made other plays though, and I appreciated that even though his shot wasnt falling or he wasn't getting the shots, he still made other plays mentioned like steals, blocked shots, assists and rebounds.

Frey took over and played great from the start. He plays so hard and Kirby played great as well. Loved to see all those dunks, have been truly impressed with Kirby this year.

Yeah anyone who says that Hall wasn't fighting wasn't watching. He had a pretty significant impact on the defensive end. He did look a bit sluggish but there were several key plays he made that kept/got us into the game. And unlike a lot of volume shooters, he didn't press and shoot 20% on 20 shots.

I love watching Frey play and he’s a winner. But I’d have to ask what more you really want from Tyler. Since the start of his sophomore year, he’s been at the very top of the scouting report and has had opponents first and foremost take him away and limit him. How good has he been? Last year, he had what was a career year for most college player and people were down on him. Last night he didn’t score and still contributed, which is what great players do.

If Tyler had gotten 20 and Kirby 4 last night nobody would have though anything of it. Last night Kirby got 19, largely because of the way they were guarding Tyler. So last night Tyler had 5 points, but also blocked three shots-which stopped 6 potential points for them. He also had assists to Kirby and Frey in our big run-where he could have just taken the shots himself. Last night he was making his teammates better. We are blessed with two great guards, and now with the addition of a viable big man in Kirby-we have some hope! We just need Kirby to be more consistent-but he's getting there.

Yes! There was hardly a time before now in his career we could have beaten a peer team with Tyler scoring 5. He didn't have to force it! It was beautiful to watch the team respond to the defense they were running at him (esp. Kirby). Win the next 2, we've got some stuff to play for!
