Missed the first half. We are in solid control of this game 71 to 55 with 745 to go! We are getting lots of steals, making cuts to the basket.. sad I can't be watching.

I'm loving that everyone is involved and scoring must be balanced as well.

Exactly! My favorite two things about this game:

1.) Ricketts hitting 5 threes!
2.) Kirby going 13 & 12, he and Frey have some good chemistry and Frey trusts throwing him the lob in traffic.

A road win over a team with a winning record is definitely a great start to league play. =D^ =D^

92-62... Not sure what you can take from this one. CATS looked good but SUU was NOT impressive at all. Overall the CATS shot 50% fgs, 50% 3s and 62% fts. Out boarded suu by 9. Not many turnovers, 3 I think. Pretty aggressive and for the most part ball movement was great. Was wishing Kirby could have netted 2 to get 10 pts... Five in double figures for scoring.I
Good start to the season...

And the LADIES won by five, correct!!!

Hey now Belgrade - no need for the optimism ;-)

It’s a looong season. I’ll get into form.

Pretty much what happens most years. A promising start, and then a brutal February and March.
Maybe if we develop a lot of depth, we can make it thru February without a swoon like last year.
Kirby needs to stay healthy!
I'd say undoubtedly that he is the main reason we can get some open shots and not force anything with defenders in our face!

Not a whiff of either the men’s or women’s games in the Helena paper. Two front page full stories for both UM programs. If anyone gets the Butte or Billings papers, what do those look like?

Ok, just read it. It was a summary recap. Nothing substantive. The entire article would fit in a screen shot.
Montana State scored the first 10 points and rolled from there to beat Southern Utah 92-62 in the team’s Big Sky Conference men’s basketball opener Saturday at Cedar City, Utah.

The Bobcats (4-7, 1-0) scored 46 points in each half and shot 50 percent from the floor, which included making 13 of 26 3-point attempts.

Tyler Hall scored 18 points to lead a parade of five MSU players into double figures. Laden Ricketts added 15 points, Devin Kirby had 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Harald Fry finished with 11 points and five assists. Quinten Guliford scored 10 points and Keljin Blevins added five assists.

The Bobcats didn’t have a turnover in the first half on their way to a 46-30 lead.

Jacob Calloway led Southern Utah (5-5, 0-1) with 18 points and Cameron Oluyitan finished with 14.
