I can't believe it!! We get 2 HOME games for preseason, both in NOVEMBER and NONE in December and that's it??? How does this athletic administration think that that will build up the Bobcat BB fan base??How will you sell full season ticket holders such as myself on not just buying conference only season passes?? I've been sitting up in the fieldhouse for 60 years and have never seen anything like the last couple of years in terms of the number of nonconference HOME BB games. Compare this to the home games we had when Roger Craft was the coach and you'll see why fan attendance is in the toilet.

Guess we can argue if it is two or three or four non-conference games. North Dakota is technically an independent and thus non-conference opponent even though wins and losses count on final ranking (confusing at best). The exhibition game is also a chance to view the Cats at home.

If we had a truly great team that was competitive year after year we could attract some more folks in for the pre-season. But until we have that it is a challenge getting quality opponents to come to Bozeman.

The pre-season schedule will be difficult looking at the opponents. Will be a great test and growing experience for the new team/recruits.

You are right you can probably just buy-out conference season tickets if you want... always your choice. But I count 14 home games this year (counting the exhibition) and 14 home games last year (counting the exhibition) so I will buy the season tickets and move on.

I am just waiting for someone else to notice that home games this year are on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday! (You know....kinda like most other conferences!)

Based on some of the "less than positive comments" last year on when games are schedule, I think I will just take a toddy out to my back patio and watch all the little eruptions or steam emissions going off around the city, county and state!

But I will still be there whenever I can. Looking forward to the season and seeing what the new team can do.

For those interested, I called the ticket office this afternoon and season ticket renewal letters will go out maybe next week or the week after.... was their current best estimate.

We are getting much higher caliber non-conference opponents at home than we have had for several years. I like it.

Huh? Two NAIA teams, a team that we played every year for the last 6 years in conference play and a .500 Mountain West team. Not exactly an exciting home non-conf schedule and I'm not sure how you could even spin it to claim it was.

I agree, I wish we had a stronger Non-Con, but in a contract year it maybe caluclated to stack up extra wins.

I don't see anything about this schedule that is calculated to stack up extra wins. Only one of the two NAIA games counts in the standings and MSU always plays one of these. There are only two home non-conference games against D-1 teams and MSU will be underdogs in every road game except maybe against UCSB, who went 6-22 last year and has a new coach. I view the non-conference season as fairly irrelevant in terms of the win-loss record MSU ends up with there - Fish needs to get it done in conference play and the conference tournament to keep his job. No more long losing streaks after promising starts in conference play, and no more blown large leads or losses to the worst team in the league in the conference tournament.

Is the Presentation on November 11 a TED Talk or just normal, boring PowerPoint prattle?

I'm hoping it is a Home and Home series. So next year I give the wife a Presentation on how important it is that I attend the game to show my support. If, just by chance, "maybe" I slip in a little pheasant hunt on the side....right in the heart of some of the best pheasant hunting in the world....well that would be OK.

I don't know who Presentation is, but it looks like they've got themselves a ringer: http://www.pcsaints.com/roster/15/1/3958.php

Fantastic find! Hopefully he isn't half the player his dad was in college, at least for this game.
The game has meaning to the family of current player Quadre Lollis (SR/Indianapolis, IN), as his father was a standout basketball player for the Bobcats and was inducted into the MSU Hall-of-Fame in 2016.

Perhaps nothing sums up the last 20+ years of MSU men's basketball better than the fact that they're playing a team featuring the son of a player who was on the last MSU team to make the NCAA Tournament.

That was the last MSU basketball game in Bozeman I attended before moving to Portland. Sprinkle went off that game, and Weber had their usual array of 6'6"-6'9" three point shooters. The court was stormed after the game, and I sat on the press table near Dean Alexander and watched the celebration.

Man, that roster got eight players on it. Do they really only have eight players?

If you beat a team with 8 players, does it only count as two thirds of a win?
