Standings Numerical Oddity

Post by Catprint » Sat Feb 24, 2018 1:18 am

As of today, Friday 23, the Big Sky standings showed a win-loss distribution unseen by any other league and likely extremely rare. From First to Last, each team has one less win and one more loss than the team above in the conference standings. A mathematician's dream but significance to the league? Not much other than we have perfect distribution of capabilities?

Griz*******13-2
Weber****12-3
Idaho*****11-4
EWU******10-5
N Colo****9-6
ISU********8-7
PSU*******7-8
Cats*******6-9
UND*******5-10
S Utah****4-11
Sac St*****3-12
NAU********2-13

If only for two days, no other league can claim such a perfect distribution of conference records! It ends Sat afternoon after the first game and statistically can't happen again this season. Go Big Sky!

That is cool, especially to number junkies AKA number nerds.
Count me in.

I noticed that the other day too, and almost posted something about it. I didn't know if other people would think it was as cool as I did, as I'm definitely a numbers nerd.

Never hesitate to post numbers stuff — looks like you have company. Count me in, too.
