It looked more like the PSU player fell down.

Picture has been pausing, pixelating quite a bit...

The February swoon is back for both our teams.

This game looked like we were a peewee team against a college team. Why are so small at every position in comparison and even our bigs would rather shoot a 10 foot jump shot than try to drive to the rim. Saw at least 3 or 4 points where they had an open lane or baseline and pulled up for a jumper. And we are definitely in love with the 3.

Still have lots of trouble with Portland's size. Why can other teams beat them? We can't shoot threes because of their length. I guess we need to figure out what to do against size.

53 points in 40 minutes? Interesting how we have so many excellent shooters
who suddenly can't shoot. Kinda like the guys yesterday who missed 14 out of 31
free throws.

Maybe I am exaggerating a bit but a couple of weeks ago we were looking at them and saying ,"wow, they really have it together", and now they look so lost. It has to be driving Binford and the Lady CATS crazy. Wish I had a solution!!!

WBB vs Port St

Post by Bobcat4Ever » Sun Feb 11, 2018 4:25 pm

They actually played pretty well against Portland State. I liked Delaney in the middle of the 2-3 zone distributing the ball. We had only 10 turnovers and 20 assists on 21 made baskets. Portland State had 21 made field goals, too, and we outscored them by 4 from the field. Too many fouls again, probably because of size. But what killed us was not shooting well. We had plenty of very good looks over the zone, but except for Tory Martell (4-6) we could not buy a three. Sometimes shooting goes south and this time it did. Madeline did her best, but we did not have anything more to answer inside. So, we shot threes — if we hit our usual percentage we win going away. Hope they keep their heads up and keep playing. You cannot lose a Peyton Ferris and a Riley Nordgaard and hope to come back as good. Anyway, I’m keeping the faith!

Weird how good or bad shooting seems to be contagious at times.

Watching this game it just seemed like MSU had to WORK for every point they scored down the stretch while PSU could always count on a foul(and hitting their free throws) or an easy layup to push the lead again. I agree when MSU is hitting 3s they are very good but they need to learn how to react when they aren't falling. It's obviously not just a problem for them but still very frustrating.
