WBB at Hawai’i (will be streamed)

Post by Bobcat4Ever » Mon Dec 04, 2017 3:02 pm

From the Hawaii web site, I could not determine if our game would be streamed or not. The schedule had a video camera icon, but it was not linked to anything. So I sent an email to the media director, and here is what he wrote back:
Tonight's game will be streamed on BigWestTV. There will be a link on the women's basketball schedule page on HawaiiAthletics.com by gametime, and you'll be able to find the game at bigwest.sidearmstreaming.com/watch/ at that time as well.
Good news! Game time is 10 p.m. MST.

Edit: The game has now been listed on the Big West streaming site.

Go Cats!

There's been discussion in another thread about increasing attendance for basketball. Here are the promotions that Hawai’i is advertising for tonight’s game:

Promotions: California Hotel and Casino is the game sponsor and will award a Vacations Hawaii trip to Las Vegas during the Shaka nene dance contest at intermission. Sign up for your chance to win at the sports marketing table at Gate A. Coach Laura Beeman will meet and greet with fans in the pregame at Gate A and the team will conduct a brief post-game question and answer session. Also, there will be a toy & clothes drive and fans are encouraged to donate items at the collection table located inside of Gate A.

We trail 41-40 at halftime. Hawaii is quite a bit bigger and a little more athletic than us, but our team if fighting hard and a lot of players are contributing. Three point shots are keeping us in it, but UH is hitting a lot as well.

They took one on the chin at the free throw line again 22-10. Lost two to fouls tonight. We just won the battle of the boards 29-28.
Hawaii just outshot us tonight but we did have 5 in double figures... 81-75, a tough one to lose.

I thought at the beginning we'd be able to win that one, but clearly the legs were getting weary. I thought Coach Binford did a good job of getting people in and out of the game, and her bench responded. Laura Pranger went 5-5, 1-1 for 11 points in like 16 minutes.

Something I was watching closely tonight was our 4-5 play on offense. I've seen this before so I was watching for it tonight. The positions that are staked out before the entry passes are causing a lot of shots to be taken with the off (left) hand — and these are where a lot of the misses are coming from. I don't think the other defenders are good enough to dictate that all the time, so maybe that is something that could be worked on? They are doing a good job of getting the ball in, and taking a strong position but a lot of shots are missing. Just my opinion, but has anyone else noticed this?

I think this is going to ultimately be a pretty good team.

Go Cats.
