Nice win for Bobcat women

The MSU women got a split on their California road trip, beating Long Beach State 62-51 with 24 from Hannah Caudill. LBSU won their conference last year and only lost to Oregon State by 1 in the NCAA first round as a 15 seed, so this appears to have been a quality opponent. MSU got beat pretty bad by USC in their opener, so it's nice to see them respond with a much better performance today.

I was very impressed by the true freshmen who will need to be playing a lot of minutes this year. They played decent defense without fouling much, they moved the ball against the press, and did not shoot when they should not. The touch pass in the 4th from Pranger to Smith was a beauty.

They really settled down well after being pretty big-eyed and running off the rails at USC.

Congratulations to Coach Binford for finding some high-quality players to keep things going this year. And to Hannah for her 24-point game!
