Not Boise...Nampa. Which is a whole different City from Boise, and a pretty big one too with over 90,000 people which is up from 50,000 in 2000. Quite a fast growing place. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nampa,_IdahoColter_Nuanez wrote:BREAKING: Big Sky moving basketball tournaments to Boise

Maybe-trying to break the bedroom town to Boise stigma they'll really embrace the tournament and make it their own thing...one can hope.

Colter corrected his original site to CenturyLink in Boise. Seems better at 5,300 capacity instead of 12,000 at Ford Center.

Yes, that is better. Right downtown. Looked like the arena in Nampa is just off a freeway exit with nothing much around...though there are a couple of Walmarts nearby.Hawks86 wrote:Colter corrected his original site to CenturyLink in Boise. Well, this makes it more feasible for us Montanans to get to this event. I am sure we will try to make it there to see us attempt to win the Big sky for a 2nd year in a row.

If the 'Cats finish the regular season in the top four do you make the trip to Boise?

It's official: http://bigskyconf.com/news/2017/9/18/ge ... -2019.aspx
Idaho State is closest. Idaho probably has most of their grads in Boise-so advantage to both those schools. Will there be bigger crowds? Will the MSU men's basketball team ever win a Big Sky tournament game-wherever it's held?

I'm pretty sure we would make an effort to get to Idaho. Reno was just that much further for us. Boise will be a 10-11 hour drive for us, so still a ways, but do-able. For us, it is the same as going to Denver, or Salt Lake. We would drive for them all.SLC_Cat wrote:If the 'Cats finish the regular season in the top four do you make the trip to Boise?

I live in SLC so 5 hours on interstate, so that works out better than Reno.msu_agfan wrote:I'm pretty sure we would make an effort to get to Idaho. Reno was just that much further for us. Has anyone seen the concentration of alumni in Boise? I would assume heavy Idaho and ISU, but I know a few classmates who took jobs there after graduation.

There's a fairly good contingent of Cat grads in Boise. I daresay more so than in Reno. My in-laws live there, so it will work great, should the Bobcats make a run...SLC_Cat wrote:I live in SLC so 5 hours on interstate, so that works out better than Reno.msu_agfan wrote:I'm pretty sure we would make an effort to get to Idaho.
