what year is Annika Lai?VimSince03 wrote:She is a righty but when she dribble-drives, always goes to her left so she obviously has practiced her shot with her left. Been really impressed with her all season. If she can continue to improve her shooting, the sky is the limit.iaafan wrote:Hannah Caudill is battling illness, Ferris was limping and in foul trouble early. As Vim said no flow in either game. Down five entering the last 10 minutes. But...
...they find a way to win. Annika Lai comes through with two *tough* left-handed layups in crunch time. Is she left-handed? Impressive either way.

ISU leads Portland State 28-27 at the half of the other semifinal. While I'm not sure if it gives them the best chance of winning the game tomorrow, how crazy would it be for MSU to get its shot at the title against the team who knocked them out in the quarterfinals a year ago. Last year Idaho State ran out of gas completely in the championship game against an Idaho team that had a first round bye, so hopefully MSU sees the advantage of having played one fewer game than whoever its opponent turns out to be.

Re: MSU vs. EWU BSC semi-final thread
Let's count the heros.
Little used in the regular season Rebecca Hatchard steps up there and hits a massive three to tie it back up.
Peyton Ferris-not a super great free throw shooter-knocks down four in a row down the stretch.
Riley Nordgaard-saves a possession by digging out a rebound somehow and then cans that three.
Annika Lai was superb. Great poise to take that shot. Gotta have some lefties to balance out the floor (or in her case a rightey that can go left). That was perfect execution. But she was the big factor all game, keeping us in it in the first half when we were floundering a little bit.
Great job by the whole team and staff. Now go get one more and let's be on for all four quarters!
