Too many turnovers on routine in bounds plays...but we're going to overtime. Huge blocked shot by Smith to give us the last shot, but we missed.

Bobcats win 88-83 in OT! Ferris with 30 Nordgaard with 20. Not their best game. Too many turnovers and too many offensive rebounds allowed...but they got it done. Caudill with a banked three to put us up 6 down the stretch.

Just got home from Bozeman. Great game....EWU is good. Hodgins has to be guarded 100% of the time. Riley and Delaney did a respectable job on her. Peyton was relentless...good decision by Binford to rest her and Riley in first half, because they had more energy left for the second half...and needed it. Don't know who is going to take up scoring when those two leave...perhaps Annika. Maddie Smith played well. She is getting better every game. Needs to take a little more time when she gets the ball down low with defender on her back and look at the basket as she shoots. Riley also rushes shots. Should use a head fake sometimes to get defender out of position. (Take a page out of Peyton's book!) Team defense the second half was great. Shared the ball well...had 17 assists! Bench scored over 30, however Riley played off the bench. Annika started
..earned it by her play lately. EWU also physical like ISU, but this was the first game of the weekend and we were at home....we wore down in Pocatello the second half from the banging inside. Hope we can replace Peyton with just as physical a player next year.

This is only loosely related to MSU hoops, but what in the world is up with the UM women this season? They lost by 27 at home to UI tonight, and are now 0-3/3-11. I have to believe that Shannon Cate is already on the hot seat. Did they lose a bunch of seniors off last year's team or what? I love seeing them struggle at anything, but it's just sort of shocking to see them be this bad.

Injury bug. Three key players out with injuries. One was BSC POY caliber.

I was glad to see Peyton Ferris have a big game. She's been getting the hell beat out of her, but she's the one accumulating the fouls. Big Sky officials-anywhere else in the world the league pre-MVP is going to get the benefit of the doubt. I think Binford's technical was a key factor in the game. She needs to work the refs a lot harder. We saw Robin Selvig growl and glare at the refs for 38 years and I don't remember him ever getting a tech (I'm sure he got a few). He was a master at working the refs. Binford says something and gets T'd right up. Oh well-whatever, Ferris finally had some room to operate in that second half.
