Montana & Weber belong in their own tier, and Idaho belongs in with “the rest”, but I think you are pretty close.

I think the BBQ should be #1. They earned that spot and have not done anything to lose it.
The Griz have looked really good this year, but so has the BBQ.

There is no 2 team top tier this early in the season.

Re: Big Sky power poll
I watched NIU at Weber on Saturday. I'd feel the same as you do except for the fact that there was 2 or 3 minutes left in the game and Weber had not gained a single yard on offense in the second half (edit). Zero, nada. That brought them back down to earth, I believe.

What are you talking about? Weber’s first play of the game was a 73-yard touchdown pass. The Big Meowski wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 8:53 amI watched NIU at Weber on Saturday. Looks to me like they had about 270 yards, including 3 scoring drives of over 50 yards before halftime. Looks like 0 yards & no offensive scoring in the 2nd half.iaafan wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 9:01 amWhat are you talking about? Ya I think they had -1 yard total in the 2nd half. Which is ridiculous.onceacat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 9:17 amLooks to me like they had about 270 yards, including 3 scoring drives of over 50 yards before halftime. LOL, sorry, I left out a very important detail. The second half. It was both painfull and humorous to watch. Its not like they weren't trying either!iaafan wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 9:01 amWhat are you talking about? Re: Big Sky power poll
So basically they are the mirror image of MSU in terms of offensive production before/after halftime?ilovethecats wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 9:49 amYa I think they had -1 yard total in the 2nd half. Re: Big Sky power poll
Sorry but I'm not ready to anoint the griz yet. Granted they had a huge win last weekend. But you can't base your poll on 1 game. Let's not forget they struggled for a half against both North Alabama and Monmouth. And Davis didn't play well this weekend, which could be in PART due to their big game the week prior when they went toe to toe with Ndsu.
It may change but right now Weber is #1 in the conference, followed by um and MSU.

Re: Big Sky power poll
Well, power polls are much more weighted towards the most recent game. It's not a predictive poll. Right now it's hard to argue the Griz aren't playing like a top 2 team Big Sky team.91catAlum wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 10:24 amSorry but I'm not ready to anoint the griz yet. Gotcha, that makes sense then, if their win this weekend is weighed more heavily.CelticCat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 10:26 amWell, power polls are much more weighted towards the most recent game. In this week's Coaches Poll Weber is #5, the Cats are #7 and the Griz are #9.

UM blew out Davis. 14-0, then 17-7 at half. 38-7 at one point. If people thought Davis was the best team in the league then you have to put UM #1 after a road win like that. No one has slowed their offense down all year.
Sneed, according to Hauck, is the best quarterback in the Big Sky. He’s been POW two straight weeks.

Yes. In another post leading up to their game I said something like, if UM goes in there and beats UCD I'll jump them to the top of the list. Not only did they beat them but it sounds like they dominated them. If Sneed stays healthy, obviously UM can beat any team in the country. Fortunately the Cats are looking pretty good too. Also, if Choate's track records holds, the Cats will be playing our best football in November, Choate says "I Promise you that."iaafan wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 10:39 amUM blew out Davis. 14-0, then 17-7 at half. 38-7 at one point. Gotta get some key players healthy for a run into November and December. Crazy to think, but I have a hunch the winner of Cat\Griz might end up in the chipper. Any chance we could end up on opposite sides of the bracket?
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

It's hard to debate that Montana is on a roll. Sneed is tough and impressive. Absolutely top tier.
However, it's also hard to argue the Cats are outside of the top tier at this point. Top tier as well.

I give the girlz a ton of credit. They look great and they're brimming with confidence. They've earned a spot at the top. Unfortunately, their fans and böbbæ have reverted back to their natural state.
