Re: MSU vs Norfolk State Predictions
As Lee Corso would say, "NOT SO FAST!" NSU barely lost to Old Dominion (21-24) who in turn played VaTech tough (17-31). NSU then blew out Virginia State (D2 I believe) and then were blown out by Coastal Carolina. CC has beaten Big 12 Kansas 12-7, so they are certainly no slouch.
I predict another tough grinder, especially if TA doesn't play. We struggle in the first half then pull away in the 2nd to win 24-13.

Is there a serious conversation about TA not playing this game?84CatGrad wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 8:58 pmAs Lee Corso would say, "NOT SO FAST!" I’m not sure if there ‘realky’ is, but I think people see the benefit to a healthy TA. More so than a hobbled TA. My personal opinion would be to learn to function without him just in case of a worst case scenario during conference play.catsrback76 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 9:02 pmIs there a serious conversation about TA not playing this game?84CatGrad wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 8:58 pmAs Lee Corso would say, "NOT SO FAST!" Yes, Choate hinted that we need our best players healthy for conference play of we want to make a run at the Big Sky title. Obviously TA is not 100%, was visibly limping during the last game and he was relatively ineffective.94VegasCat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 9:52 pmI’m not sure if there ‘realky’ is, but I think people see the benefit to a healthy TA. MSU 34 Norfolk 13
Sagarin has the Cats by 22.33. Last week he had us by 16.7. Won by 9 and dropped about 40 spots. Texas Tech numbers probably played into that.

Re: MSU vs Norfolk State Predictions
Just from seeing how he moved last week and how limited he was, and knowing this is likely an inferior opponent, I'd bet he sits. Do i know that? No. Just a hunch.catsrback76 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 9:02 pmIs there a serious conversation about TA not playing this game?84CatGrad wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 8:58 pmAs Lee Corso would say, "NOT SO FAST!" Actually it's 25.33 when you add the additional 3 points Sagarin tacks on for the home team.

Not sure if other teams will go to school on the the WIU game and their recipe for nullifying both Troy and Travis - if there D is capable, i think they will. Also, unless the passing game picks up, most teams will treat is like last year eventually and stack the box challenging us to throw.

Re: MSU vs Norfolk State Predictions
Our strengths align with their weaknesses. Running or passing, we're going to put it in the end zone five times before Coach Choate pulls back on the reins and lets the younger guys grind up the clock in the 4th quarter. I won't be surprised to see one more touchdown here.

Re: MSU vs Norfolk State Predictions
Dang, I should’ve just said MSU by 35! Obviously, the game didn’t go anything like I thought it would.
MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).
