Re: Stadium East side

Anyone been by lately? Just wondering if it was nearing the completed phase.
Actually I'm pretty sure our attendance has been down slightly the last few years, as compared to the first few years after the stadium was expanded. As you pointed out though, our records haven't been as good either, so that's probably to be expected. In the first 4 years after the new EZ was built, we were 36-15 with 2 BSC titles and 3 playoff appearances. The last 4 years we've been 22-24 with no BSC titles and only 1 payoff berth. We're trending the right direction though, so hopefully the crowds will soon return to those 2011-2014 levels. I think we should add a few seats as long as we're investing all that money to renovate the stadium, but I don't think it needs to be much bigger. I'd like to get the official capacity up to somewhere in the 20,000 range, with the ability to squeeze in another couple thousand with temporary bleachers and SRO when needed. I agree that it definitely needs to be nicer though, with more and better bathrooms, etc. especially on the east side.cats2506 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 9:46 amI think rather than looking at national trends on attendance, it would be better to look at MSU's trends over the last 5 or 10 years.Long Time Cat wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 9:19 amWith attendance dropping nationwide does putting money into making our stadium larger make sense. Making it nicer seems to be essential. Making it bigger maybe not.
From the link. "Total attendance among Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams dropped again last year, continuing a trend that doesn’t seem to have a bottom."

In the last 5 years I think we have held attendance pretty good near capacity, and that includes 3 years of sub .500 records

I hate to be picky but doesn't the 4th section from the left look to be a slightly different color of white? Almost eggshell? That said, even that is a huge upgrade for the entire stadium!!!DriscollCat wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 10:33 pmHere is a field level view of the sands from today's scrimmage.
I believe they still have one section left to finish, that must be the section still to go.catsrback76 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 11:06 pmI hate to be picky but doesn't the 4th section from the left look to be a slightly different color of white? That's the primer. That section still needs its final coat of paint.catsrback76 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 11:06 pmI hate to be picky but doesn't the 4th section from the left look to be a slightly different color of white? That makes sense. Looking at the entire East Side Line section, does anyone know IF they will be painting the side and back panels of that section as well?91catAlum wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2019 6:30 amThat's the primer.
