I haven’t listened yet, but this is obviously about me. Enjoy!

I haven’t had a chance to listen yet, but I was thinking Will Dissly or Josh Huestis. Both playing and drafted in the NFL and NBA. Huestis is was actually a 1st round pick.

Initially, they both seemed like they didn't want to mention Troy. However, after they did, they then spent over 10 minutes talking about him specifically.
That's all you need to know folks.

Re: Best athlete from Montana RIGHT NOW
I've said this before, but the best athletes in their sport have to be some of the female distance runners in MT. Troy Andersen is a generational athlete in Montana, but on a national scale, does he even crack the top 100 athletes in football? 500? Makena Morley is an all-american in track and cross country. That doesn't necessarily make her as athletic as TA, but it depends on what the criteria is. If the criteria is pure athleticism, who's to say it's not some decathlete or wrestler or soccer player or something? If it's success in their sport, I don't think there's anybody better right now in their respective sport than Makena Morley.
Couple of disclaimers: 1, I haven't listened to the podcast. 2, I coached Makena in track and think pretty highly of her.

They talk about her a lot. I think the sport that requires the most athletic ability is basketball. Especially the guards and forwards. Football is up there too. Track, skiing and a lot of the other sports they talked about just don’t have the same degree of difficulty.
So I’d put players that excel in hoops and football ahead. You also need to factor in that a lot more people go out for football and basketball so the odds of rising to the top are higher.

Re: Best athlete from Montana RIGHT NOW
For the podcast, they used each athletes success in their respective sports as the baseline for determining the best athlete in MT right now. They talked in length about Makena Morley as well, which was a good listen, because I had no clue about her.
The combination of size, speed, agility, smarts, and the ability to play multiple positions within one's sport is how I define athlete.
So for me it's Troy.

Gotcha, I look forward to listening when I'm not at the office. I tend to think basketball players are the most athletic in Montana too. I think in other states where hockey and baseball are more prominent, they deserve to be in the conversations more. It's funny though, we love basketball in Montana but it's one of our worst sports on a national level IMO.iaafan wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 2:42 pmThey talk about her a lot. Re: Best athlete from Montana RIGHT NOW
I had never heard about or noticed Troy Andersen's "Running Knee to the Defenders head move"... hahahaha. so awesome! I will definitely be watching for that next fall.
I want to see a video of the play colter was referencing against Cal Poly. When the Cal Poly defender tried to tackle Troy, and troy apparently just ran him over while jumping up and kneeing him in the head.... hahaha.... To quote Colter- "I thought the Cal Poly guy was dead!"

Sonny was a fantastic athlete in his day, but he’s 81 years old now. If you want to rate all time great Montana athletes, he’d definitely be on the list.

I argued pretty hard for Morley as well as the Aragon sisters, who still run professionally.kennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 3:22 pmGotcha, I look forward to listening when I'm not at the office. How about Tejay Van Garderen? Best young rider and 5th place overall in the 2012 Tour de France and still a top level pro cyclist. He grew up in Bozeman.
