The biggest surprise is one of them actually has the griz ranked at 23, overrated if you ask me.

Noticed Lamar in the Hero rankings "Next Best" section. Their QB this year should be former Bobcat, Jordan Hoy who also spent a year at a Calif. JC and FBS Old Dominion. Last season he was Lamar's #2 QB and took over mid season when #1 went down. His first start was a win vs. SF Austin where he went 11-16 passing and rushed for 225 yards including a 68 yard TD. The next week vs. ranked Central Arkansas, another win, he went 15-25-346 and 4 TD's passing. He was the Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year. Lamar lost in the first round of the playoffs 13-16 to No Iowa. They went with their regular starter who was good-to-go by then. Hoy does face a challenge this season from a Tennessee transfer. Everything about the Hero Sports ranking and write up sounded about right to me.
UM is the university equivalent of Axe Body Spray and essential oils.
