So a 275k guarantee and a 250k guarantee. That’s interesting as it wasn’t long ago that I stated a typical guarantee anymore is close to 300k (when we were discussing Dixie St) and Cataholic blasted me with this:

“You are a real idiot. A typical guarantee is nowhere near $300,000 for an FCS game.”

Well I guess he was wrong, again. What else is new.

Yes those whopping 9800 fans you had at your first playoff game in years was huge for the coffers

I think that’s more fans than the griz have had for the playoffs for the last 3 years combined...

It would really blow my mind if ONE SINGLE PERSON ever sent you a private message that supported anything you said. Pathetic troll.

Quote from RationalGriz on the Dixie State thread you allude to: “grizaddict is a clueless turd that unfortunately mirrors quite a few Griz fans.”

What a sweet deal for the Long Island and Moorhead players. Hopefully they get to spend a day in the area. I know the school staff from places like Wagner, Monmouth, etc. rave about the scenery from the stadium and from touring around the area.

SW Montana is the most scenic area in Montana. Big mountains, wide valleys and lots of sunshine.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I am not sure why MSU is guaranteeing that much for any team to travel to Bozeman. My recollection is that you could only provide one example of a $300,000 guarantee games: NDSU and Charleston. Apparently MSU is doing well enough we can afford to pay more for opponents to travel to Bozeman.

Here was the premise of the infamous Dixie State thread. Illinois State is guaranteeing $85,000 to Dixie. Weber is guaranteeing $80,000. MSU is guaranteeing $80,000. Weber is guaranteeing $60,000. UM is guaranteeing $130,000. Seems like UM made a bad deal. Enter Grizaddict, who made the claim that $300,000 payouts are the norm in FCS, yet he could only show one example. I did have some thoughts on possible reasons for the NDSU payout:

“So you want to use one game between NDSU and Charleston as the “typical” payout for FCS games? A couple of factors go into the higher payout: 1. The distance of a couple thousand miles for travel; 2. NDSU is not an opponent many FCS teams want to play as it is a high probability loss in Fargo - hence the higher payout; 3.
Charleston has multiple $500,000 options against FBS teams within 200 miles of the school. A $300,000 payout to play at an FCS location is not the norm. This was an anomaly.”

Now if you look at LIU and Morehead, you will see that they also meet the same criteria in travel distance and multiple FBS options for opponents.

One last thought, it is fiscally impossible for the majority of FCS teams to regularly pay $200,000+ guarantees. Many FCS teams average around 7,000 in attendance. At an average ticket price of $30 (which may be high for many programs), that is $210,000 in ticket sales. Does anybody think that the typical payout for FCS teams can be around $300,000?

Granted, Grizaddict probably has a liberal arts degree in music and works at Walmart as a cashier, so we can cut him some slack.

How many fans were at the Griz playoff home game last year? BTW, you lied about payouts and it’s been proven, Liar.

There is no chance Grizaddict has any college degree. If it is from UM, wow, that’s a big reason why that school is hemorrhaging money and students.

Great to see more FCS opponents on the schedule! Here's hoping that games against Division 2 opponents are a thing of the past...

I would say that is the reason for larger payouts. High chance of victory that gets you in the playoffs

At least for schools with a healthy financial situation like MSU. Griz just scheduled D2 Central Washington and they probably still paid more than we paid FCS Dixie State😂😂😂.
