Not sure I've ever seen a fanbase argue over how big of a fan they can be of a player.
Seems like utucats was kidding there. I think it's funny, because I think sports parents are pretty much the worst in most cases. If he's not joking, you're right--this is possibly the dumbest argument I've ever seen on here, and I've seen some dandies.
I think you should get the blue ribbon today for understanding when someone is kidding. By the way, I’m the biggest fan of TA ever so there really is no argument.

He isn’t lying either. He has a tattoo of Troy on his chest. I have seen it. It’s the one of Rob Ash that confuses me.

There were at least 2 other threads that mentioned it so there's certainly some sentiment here...
Yep, I was making fun of that sentiment.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

What is taking so long for MSU to make this official? Could this deal have fallen apart?

Was just thinking the same thing. Shouldn't this be final by now? Does MSU need to keep posted jobs open for a defined length of time before they can be officially closed?

Choate said it would be announced this week. The week is not over yet. Lots of paperwork associated with any hiring and worse for a public employee.

While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

BOZEMAN, Montana – Jeff Choate reached into Montana State’s football past on Wednesday to fill the final remaining hole on his 2019 coaching staff, bringing former All-America linebacker Bobby Daly back to his alma mater. The move is pending background check.

One of Montana State’s all-time leading tacklers (382, fourth in school history), Daly takes over linebacker and Assistant Head Coach duties on the MSU coaching staff. The Helena Capital product was First Team All-Big Sky and First Team All-America in 2007 as a junior, and Second Team All-Big Sky and Honorable Mention All-America in 2008. He was voted team captain as a senior, sharing that distinction with his father J. and brother Brad, and led the Big Sky in tackles in 2006.

Choate said Daly fits the criteria he laid out for that staff position. “Bobby is a high-energy coach with a great reputation as a recruiter and strong ties to the state of Montana and our program,” he said. “He has done a great job of developing linebackers at the University of Idaho, and I’m very excited that he is joining our coaching staff.”

Daly returns to Montana State after a successful six-year career at Idaho, rising from graduate assistant (2013-15) to Director of Operations (2016), to linebackers coach in 2017-18. He also coached the defensive line in the Vandals’ 2016 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl victory. In Idaho’s first season back in the Big Sky last fall, Daly coached First Team All-Big Sky linebacker Kaden Elliss and Third Team selection Christian Elliss. Before beginning his coaching career, Daly played with the Billings Outlaws Indoor Football League team for three seasons (2009-11).

While Daly is steeped in the Bobcat tradition, he also carries strong football bloodlines. His father J. was a Helena Capital assistant coach during Bobby Daly’s childhood, and starred for the Cats in the 1970s. His brother Brad, a Bobcat defensive end, earned the 2013 Buck Buchanan Award as the top defensive player in the FCS. All three earned All-Big Sky and All-America honors in the Blue and Gold.

Yes, and many have very specific areas and pipelines they focus on. Where did he primarily recruit? Is what I assume the question was...

Will they resonate outside of MT (and Idaho) though?

I think their accomplishments will resonate to recruits from everywhere.

I wish Choate would hire one more coach. Bob Green! That would make for an even better season!!
