A really good field goal kicker would be nice. The last guy we had that was consistent was Jason Cunningham in the Ash years.

Cunningham had some big games, if I remember right, didn't he hit 2 - 55 yard kicks against EWU at home? I was surprised he didn't get a shot at going to the NFL or CFL. I know kickers aren't in high demand every year.

Does anyone know if Amandre Williams projects at OLB (press release said OLB), or at DE? He's at 225 now so he might be a bit small for either DE spot, does he have the frame to get to 260? Looks like he was 240 coming out of high school, so he must've leaned up to play LB.

I think we need him more at LB personally, although I also have wondered if Sparaco will move inside in which case he will be needed at DE.

I would say he could be effective at Will or Buck in Gregorak's defense.

I like how this team sets up for 2019. I would like to see a dynamic kick and punt returner emerge...similar to Shawn Johnson! This team needs to get possessions out to the 40 more often.

No way would it be a waste. He could easily be alternated in and out of that position to running back or whatever. He could go in motion and take a handoff. We already have Ifanse and Jones that can run the ball well plus a quarterback. He'd have a big impact on our running game taking attention away from our running backs. The O-coordinator will have a fun job next year.

Not a surprise that Miller will be OC. They weren't going to take it away from him after the offense improved with him.

Choate also said the QB of the future will probably be Bauman, Rovig, or Beltran.

My opinion is that he listed them in the correct order too.

I think Bauman could be something special.

I was ready for Rovig last year. I trusted the coaches that he wasn't ready just yet, but I liked what I did see and the coaches did trust him enough to at least plan to hand the reigns to him before he broke his foot.

What I'm saying is, I think we are in good shape next year with either Rovig or Bauman.

I'm not counting Beltran out either, but I think those two are the frontrunners heading into spring.

Agreed. Lets face it...Tucker has gone through a lot of "football" life his first two years in terms of the highest of highs (Wagner game) and lowest of lows (performing poorer than expected in the spring, breaking his foot, and getting humbled overall).

Not saying he's battled tested by any means but maturity comes with experience. He's at the point now where he is good enough at being a leader and just needs to go sling the rock the way he knows he can.

Off season will be telltale but I frankly am much more excited about Rovig;I've been ready for him to play since he came out of HS and was disappointed he laid an egg last spring to lose the job. But as another poster said...he's seen it all now emotionally so he should be somewhat steely going into this Spring. I think he wins the job.

But I'll support whoever so long as our offense finds balance. LOVED TA last year and he may be my favorite Bobcat...but man did I wish for a passing game.

I agree. Miller is definitely a team need and Bauman will win the job.

He did hit two 55-yarders against EWU in 2011, but it was in Cheney. I was at that game. He had 5 field goals total in that game, which we won 36-21 over the defending national champions. That was our 2nd straight win over them, but it was also our last. We'd lost 7 in a row to them before 2010, won 2 in a row, and now we've lost 7 straight again.

On a side note, you could make a pretty strong case that we played the top 3 teams in the nation this year, and maybe even the top 4. Weber should have beaten Maine and advanced to the semi-finals, if not for the 5 turnovers they had in that QF loss.

The only thing that is holding Bauman back is his understanding of the passing game, reading defenses, (decision making). Choate says he can "spin it" better than a lot of QB'S around.

So the only thing holding him back is the ability to play QB? :-k

That's like saying the only thing holding a LB back is his understanding of reading the QB, pre-snap motions and communicating with the rest of the defense but he can sure hit hard.

No wonder he only played one series this season. I hope he progresses in the offseason and becomes the QB1 or strong QB2 but this explains why all the hype for the last 4-5 months was overblown. Not that where he's at today is unexpected. He was a true freshman from a small school. Seems like way too many people were unreasonable.

Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!
