Agreed. We were all hoping for a better showing today but we shouldn’t let disappointment blind us to the progress we made this year. Our Seniors should be proud. They laid a great foundation for us to build on.

Can’t wait for next season!!

Great season. This team has fought it's ass off all season. We lost today. But it's always a good day, not to be a grizzly. Go Cats!

This may be my favorite Cat season to date (mind you I was born in ‘84) because if they way they fought and because of the GREAT play by players forced into unnatural positions. So proud to be a CAT today.

We got shellacked today, but I think the lessons learned in this one and at South Dakota State will payoff. I think our players, coaches, administrators, and big boosters got a good look at the holes we need to fill to take the next steps. The question is, do we want to make the commitment to take those next steps, or are we going to be okay with being a team that makes the playoffs every now and then?

Agree (utu that's like 3 times this week :o )). Today was basically irrelevant to the progress of the season.

Amazing season! MSU is headed in the right direction, and I think we were incredibly lucky to have this learning opportunity with such a young and talented team.

Every bruise today will push us ahead next year.

Not bad for a team picked to be 8th in the BSC!

Exactly.

Guys, if we would have said in August this team has all the makings to be a team that plays 2 playoff games, we’ all agree it was crazy talk! Griz fans would blast us!

It didn’t end like we wanted. But this team and staff should hold their heads high.

Yep, only truly ends the way 1 team wants it to. We saw that team today, probably. I'd take our ending over um's, just as an example. Bottom end of the top 16 teams in the country is a good place to enter the offseason from.

Very classy Coach! =D^ Excellent perspective for the guys to mull over and for the seniors to leave on! This team over achieved by all external standards, and they did it with a tough schedule, a ton and half of adversity, and a bunch of underclassmen. Next year, we rise to even greater heights! =D^

These young men played their guts out all season, and especially these last 5 weeks. I couldn't be more proud to be a Bobcat today, regardless of the outcome of the game. They proved the naysayers wrong. Our guys went up against a juggernaut today and had to play an absolutely flawless game in order to have a chance, and unfortunately they didn't do that. Keep in mind -- we were so much younger than NDSU, we are so banged up right now, we're playing with a LB at QB. Our upside has SO much potential right now. If Coach can find a way to fill a couple key holes in the offseason, we have a chance to do even more amazing things next year.

Rather than keep focusing on who's playing what position and what needs to happen with certain players, right now I prefer to just reflect on a pretty darn good season, and thank those boys in Blue & Gold for so much fun this year.

We got to watch two kids rush for over a 1000 yards! One is a freshman and the other is a sophomore. They did this behind a line that for the most part had to play every snap of the season! There wasn't much depth on this team of primarily underclassmen on both offense and defense.

After bowl season, I intend to closely research next years version of Bobcat football.

I visited with Choate at a fundraiser last year. He talked about Jay Hill and Weber's trajectory as the model. A playoff birth and a post season win is exactly right for the Cats this year. Yes, this was a great season without a doubt. Another good class with a couple key transfers, and we are looking at a 6-2 season and possibly multiple playoff wins. Another good class after that we are looking at first round bye.

Can we even sniff NDSU in the next few years? Nope. Not from what I just saw. We can hope to end up on the other side of the bracket and play for 2nd like everyone else. Whatever.

MSU has lost 11 games the past two season, but eight of them were to top five seeds in this year's playoffs. NDSU, EWU 2, WSU 2, SDSU 2, Kennesaw St. The other three losses were to FBS bowl team team Washington State, 2017 FCS playoff team NAU and Idaho State.

Troy Andersen ran for the most yards vs. NDSU the past two season. Abdullah of James Madison ran for more in the 2016 FCS semi-final game. Also, it was the most by a QB in the past 35 games. SDSU's Christion ran for 141 vs. NDSU in 2016 -- the only season NDSU didn't win the NC in the past seven years.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).
