Its because not every kid has social media to announce their commitment. Or they have social media and they keep it quiet.

Man, hard to believe less than a decade ago we all got surprised and excited on signing day at 15-20 kids we had (mostly) never even heard of before.

And no this does not mean I know who it is. Just trying to give some perspective on modern day recruitment announcements.
