So proud of this young man! I hope he returns to MSU, Plays a lot of minutes, gets his full ride back (assuming he lost it). One of the better feel good stories of the last decade.

Good job Chris!! There is absolutely nothing wrong with a second chance when you have worked for it.

Re: Chris Murray OUT for 2018 Season
I’m with you. I’ve never heard anything other than him busting his ass to get back where he should be. Have been very disappointed and have had to bite my tongue reading this board sometimes. Good for Chris. He let himself down, his team and his coaches. He owned up to it, did what he had to do, and we’ll see him again.
The question is where......?

Whether he's on the team or not, good for the young man for getting back on track.

Re: Chris Murray OUT for 2018 Season
So he's back to MSU this spring? I thought he was taking fall classes. And by back to MSU, does that mean back on the team or back to school. I read it he's back to school. Maybe it means on the team. IDK.

Will be interesting to see how he fits back in the team, great job to Chris for buckling down and getting back to work.

I don’t see why he wouldn’t be on the team. I would think that the coaches would want to see if he can maintain his grades, while participating fully with the team, as soon as possible.
MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Personality-wise and chemistry-wise he’ll fit right in. Position-wise will depend on who’s all in the quarterback room.cowgirlcat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 6:29 amWill be interesting to see how he fits back in the team, great job to Chris for buckling down and getting back to work.

Do you think the coaches might be hesitant to even try him at QB? If he's still the best they would have to play him and chance going down that road again. ***I would love to see him behind center again!!

I see him coming back as running back, doesn't meet the passing game Choate wants. But more studs in the backfield

Do you mean like a Jonsen-esque roll? I can't really seem him holding up as a rb.Montanabob wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 9:52 amI see him coming back as running back, doesn't meet the passing game Choate wants. But more studs in the backfield

Re: Chris Murray OUT for 2018 Season
I LOVE him in the Jonsen wildcat role. Get Jonsen as many reps at being a true WR, utilize him in the bubble/quick screen game, he could be an All Conf WR with more focus on route running. Murray could thrive in the other role.technoCat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 10:08 amDo you mean like a Jonsen-esque roll? If we get to keep Miller another year, he will be salivating at a chance to get the ball into Murray's hands. Lot's of options and all of them are good.

I'll be honest, I don't give two hoots about Chris Murray the football player right now. This is awesome news for Chris Murray the person and he should be proud of the hard work he's put in so far to get where he is. This is the kind of "don't quit" mentality and stick-to-it-ivness that will help him be successful in life. GO CM!

Re: Chris Murray OUT for 2018 Season
I think that’s exactly where we will see him, along with time at wide receiver. A lot less pressure on him as well, allowing for more time to devote to academics.RobertCats wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 10:32 amI LOVE him in the Jonsen wildcat role.
