Hi y’all... loss of Murray is a blessing in disguise for cats IMO, definitely a playmaker, but as an opposing fan I fear the traditional MSU power running game with a decent arm to keep things honest.
Anyways - SAC has the best defensive backfield in the conference, the best pass rusher, and an offense that rivals the best FCS has to offer. If they don’t totally sac state things up this year, I hope to celebrate our school’s first ever playoff berth!

I was just talking with another Cat guy about you guys. I'm suddenly a fan, and I tend to agree you can be a playoff caliber team. You have a chance to detonate this conference with your BSC opener in Missoula. I wish you guys the very best of luck.Kadeezy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 19, 2018 4:56 pmHi y’all... loss of Murray is a blessing in disguise for cats IMO, definitely a playmaker, but as an opposing fan I fear the traditional MSU power running game with a decent arm to keep things honest.

Re: 2018 BSC prediction
So can someone clarify UND's status for the 2018 season? As I understand it, they are no longer officially a BSC member for football, but they are playing a full BSC schedule...is that correct? I presume that means they can't win the auto bid, but they would be eligible for an at large berth in the playoffs? Does that sound about right?luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 4:20 pmAfter running through the entire conference schedule here's what I get for win-loss records.

Re: 2018 BSC prediction
My understanding is UND is independent, but since the BSC schedules where all done before they bailed, their games count for their opponents but the are not part of the BSC this year.John K wrote: ↑Sat Jul 21, 2018 1:33 pmSo can someone clarify UND's status for the 2018 season? Re: 2018 BSC prediction
Pretty much. Games against them count for a conference game for the opposing team, but not for them. They can make the playoffs, but only as an at large. They can’t win the BSC conference title, even at 8-0 if they happened to do that.luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 21, 2018 2:06 pmMy understanding is UND is independent, but since the BSC schedules where all done before they bailed, their games count for their opponents but the are not part of the BSC this year.John K wrote: ↑Sat Jul 21, 2018 1:33 pmSo can someone clarify UND's status for the 2018 season? Re: 2018 BSC prediction
Ewu Weber and Idaho should be vying for top spot. Sac state and UC Davis could play spoiler role.
The team that is most interesting to me is Montana State. Our roster is fairly young but talented. Wide receivers are a little sketchy in terms of youth and the returners weren’t exactly dominant. How fast can they grow up?
We are basically a quarterback away from winning this conference. I don’t know if any quarterback can get us there this year (none have starting experience).
Next year it is game on.

Re: 2018 BSC prediction
I was just listening to the podcast with Jay and the EWU and NAU announcers. It was a great listen and provided some good insight into what some of the media closest to the teams think of the conference. The guys interacted well and had a lot of fun.
Surprisingly the NAU guy isnt too high on them this year. He said their O line has no depth and is full of jc transfers that nobody knows about. He actually picked them lower than 6th he said. 1 of them, not Jay said he thinks Sac State is going to win the league! This is going to be an interesting season for sure.

I feel like if we can clean up mistakes that hurt us at the wrong time last year that should be worth a couple more wins. In my judgment, improvement in the passing game should result in potentially a couple more wins.bpcats20 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 22, 2018 10:05 amEwu Weber and Idaho should be vying for top spot. If we can do those things, I think we can finish 8-3 or 9-2.
Not sure where that would put us in league standings, though.

If we go 9-2 I'm pretty sure that means we win the league unless something very strange happens.Cledus wrote: ↑Tue Jul 31, 2018 3:38 pmI feel like if we can clean up mistakes that hurt us at the wrong time last year that should be worth a couple more wins. Interesting to see some differences between this and the college sports madness top 44 that’s being released one by one right now.Air Force Cat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 9:29 pmVersus Compughter preseason rankings for FCS and each conference:

A couple that stuck out to me:
Weber- compughter rating-6. College sports madness-41
Difference of 35 spots.
Sac St- compughter rating-60. College sports madness- 32
Difference of 28 spots
Western Illinois- compughter rating-17. College sports madness-37
Difference of 20 spots
Howard- compughter rating- 83. College sports madness- 44
Difference of 39 spots
Again, something for fans to look at and have fun discussing, but another example of how little these preseason things mean. Those are some serious discrepancies.

Nice to see some love from an outside source. I would be happy with a third place finish and a playoff berth. This year.
Next year conference champs and a deep playoff run.
