This another big time get, but I’ll hold on until there’s confirmation.
He's working out with the team and was in Felix's photos. You have to be at least a PWO to take part in summer workouts(I think).
Why? They are player led, no coaches or oversight?
This is not totally true. Coaches can have, and do have contact with the team during summer work outs. If i am not mistaken they get like 4 hours a week that they can have contact with them.
But again, that's coaches contact with players that are restricted. Players and PWO at s player led worked? That would be hard to be restrict by school or NCAA. Just like a pickup game of basketball.. I used to play pick up games with Vandals basketball players all the time and I wasn't on the team... And before you start, I was never good enough to play basketball at any level higher than pick up games.

I think where it gets confusing is the difference between mandatory and voluntary summer workouts. I don't think we have any mandatory workouts. The mandatory practices is when the coaches can interact directly with players.
A new NCAA rule gives on-field coaches eight hours per week to interact with players, with up to two of those hours available for football-related meetings or film review — provided those players are enrolled in summer school or meet a minimum grade-point average requirement.

I also vaguely remember Coach Choate commenting about this stuff. Maybe @Colter_Nuanez remembers.

The athletic dept. and university would really be recklessly exposing themselves to huge liability issues if they didn't restrict participation
in practices to athletes on the team (even in or especially in student led practices). That's one of the realities of the litigious world we live in.

Like most players its hard to tell how good he is from the video, but he’d be the 14th star-rated player fwiw. Judging by the other teams after the guys MSU got this year, Choate and Company got this recruiting thing down.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

On video, on paper these recruits look good, but you are spot on. I do think they have this recruiting thing down. CANNOT wait for the season to start!
