I saw matt miller and choate followed a transfer WR from university of Illinois originally from Florida. That could be a possibility. Dominic Thieman?

Two time academic all big 10, sounds like he will fit nicely!! I hope it is him, as we have a need in the WR area.

Played as a freshman and broke his ankle.
Played as a sophomore. 3 years to play 2.
Oh and the vandals offered him a scholarship and he is still coming to MSU.

Just to be clear, I have no idea if this is the guy or not. Just one possibility based on need and recent twitter follows.

It's Daniel Hardy from Siskisyous (sp?) which is a JUCO.

Played as a freshman, but eligible to transfer immediately. Four years to play three.

LB/Edge.

6'4 210. I would assume he'll play Sam? Not big enough to be a Buck, yet, but shows good pass rush skills. Had 66 tackles and 9 sacks as a freshman in JUCO.

Seems like we're loaded at linebacker. Might this guy be a likely redshirt?

The pass-rushing cupboards were bare last year as Grant Collins and Derek Marks were our only viable options to put any pressure on the QB.

Fast-forward to now and we have a current lineup of kids who have a knack for getting after the QB. We can rotate in fresh legs to bring pressure...finally.

Oh my dear goodness I have a new crush.

The frame on this kid, holy crap. Arms, arms and more arms, and room to grow!

It's obvious he's raw and doesn't have a ton of ideas on what he's doing, but when it clicks for him, it clicks. Hand usage is subpar, but that can be coached up. You know what can't be coached? This kids closing speed. He's a terror on read-option offenses. Read, read, read, react and BOOM he's there. Hits violently, he moves at a different speed compared to everybody else on the field, and he finishes! Oh my goodness. Profiles to a similar position as Chad Kanow imo. I would redshirt him, coach him up, make him live in the weight room, and he's an impact player after that. Like...a player offenses have to scheme against.

Without a doubt imo, he has the best pass rushing potential on this team. Super raw, but big time get. Way more potential than that kid that went to UCONN. I know I said earlier that he would have to play LB over edge, but forget that, this kid is a pass rusher all the way. Just put some meat on his bones, and he's got the frame to get to 240-250 easily imo. Really hope we can redshirt him...we can and should be able to.

Went on an official visit to Fresno State yesterday....then committed to MSU today. The Big Sky blatantly beats out Mountain West schools every year.

Here is the original tweet. I know Choate can't give out certain hints anymore, but I thought the "Big" might be Big Ten, but it looks like it's just a big guy.

Huge addition to the D. Welcome to MSU. A side note are we only playing Defense this this year, lots of new talent and depth. Still waiting to see a stud WR transfer commit.

I'm not sure why anybody would expect a stud WR to transfer here. We're not exactly a proven pass offense that most good wr's are going to want to join.

Because he has a chance to be the #1 guy. What school did Calvin Johnson go to? Did they throw a lot?

Calvin Johnson came into college as a huge project that was very, very raw. GT always had big, raw, athletic WR's. They also play in a major conference, so it's a little different.

I'm just being realistic. Last year our #1 went for 41/500/5. We threw for 1500 yards. We aren't going to be high on the list of a WR who is transferring to get himself recognized. But this is a story for a different thread. We just landed a great recruit. Let's keep this about him.
